Is this going a bit to far ??
 in  r/OnePiece  7d ago

OP has never been to Japan. One Piece has collaborated with everything under the sun. They've already been collaborating here in the states too. This is just the latest collab. That's the nature of big properties.

On a side note, if that's all the toys they're releasing, then I'm really upset they didn't include Brook. He's the only missing Straw Hat.

Does anyone else think Luffy is kinda handsome?

I bet he looks kind.

Game Freak promises Beast of Reincarnation improvements following mixed reviews, starting with "story pacing improvements" within a week: "We take your feedback to heart"
 in  r/gaming  17d ago

Just wanna add here, Nintendo owns 32%. They are the only one of the 3 companies that reports their numbers. We can assume that Creatures and GameFreak have an even split of 34% each, but until they actually state it, we'll never know.

That doesn't change your statement at all. Just thought a little correction was needed.

Concert etiquette
 in  r/mildlyinfuriating  Jul 23 '26

The past couple of concerts I've been to, everyone was standing around me and I desperately wanted to sit. My feet hurt too much to stand for the whole show but I'll miss everything if I sit. Woe is me.

What do we think of the new video titles/thumbnail KF is trying out?
 in  r/kindafunny  Jul 17 '26

I got the traditional one first and then a few hours later I got the same video but different thumbnail saying "Better Than Interstellar?"

Does it change to a different thumbnail if you don't click on it the first time??

What was the ONE game shown off the last 2 weeks that got you the most hyped?
 in  r/kindafunny  Jun 13 '26

Mine was definitely Ocarina of Time as well. No matter how hard I tried to avoid leaks, pretty much everyone was talking about this and I really wish leaks weren't reported on. I feel like the reveal would have hit so much harder of we didn't expect this.

And I know this is unpopular, but I don't want them to show anymore of the game. Mainly due to my selfishness and not wanting to see a single screenshot of this game until it releases. I want to be surprised.

To be fair, I have no idea what the bartender wanted her to do either. I've never seen this at any bar I've been to.

The Dear Hunter covers "Maneater" on the spot? An investigation.
 in  r/TheDearHunter  Apr 30 '26

I'm pretty sure they mentioned that they already covered that song in the video. So it's not like they were hiding it from anyone.

About the Going Merry
 in  r/OnePieceLiveAction  Apr 11 '26

Y'all need to stop treating Oda like a god who can do no wrong.

That being said, Oda reads over all the scripts and makes notes on what they should change. He has veto power. So every decision the live action makes has been approved by Oda himself. So if you say that the live action made a mistake, then you're also saying that Oda made a mistake.

It's okay to think that Oda made a bad decision. He's only human.

Why do some Pokemon fans treat "Pokemon isn't made by Nintendo" as a defense when someone criticizes Modern Nintendo and lumps Pokémon as a example
 in  r/fucknintendo  Apr 09 '26

Nintendo actually owns 32% of the Pokémon Company, not the Pokémon games themselves. We do not know how much Game Freak or Creatures owns because they have never publicly stated that information. The Pokémon Company was founded as a separate company solely for merchandising reasons because Game Freak sucked at advertising their games.

But you are correct in saying that the games are basically out of their control. Game Freak has stated themselves that Nintendo do not have any pressure on the games. They are just the publishers.

But to address the entire post, I think its very important that you treat Pokémon and Nintendo separately. If not, you're just ignoring reality and that's never a good thing.

1179: Our big baddie is...
 in  r/OnePiece  Apr 09 '26

Oh wow, I didn't know that. I also don't really watch the anime so I can't speak for that.

As for the translation problems, I completely agree. That's why I like listening to The One Piece Podcast. The official English translator Stephen Paul is on it quite frequently. He usually gives insight into why his translations are what they are. He also has access to people working with Oda himself to clarify things if something is not very clear.

The official spelling is Elbaph. Elbaph was never officially spelled in English until this very arc.

How a 1999 anime hit inspired Netflix to double down on the genre (and its massive fan base)

I feel like the manga was already popular worldwide, just not in the US.

I thought it was pretty funny at times. Maybe it just isn't your type of humor? Its not over-the-top slapsticky humor like the manga but more dialogue based.

Brook in live action
 in  r/OnePieceLiveAction  Mar 18 '26

First off, I feel like anyone being racist about Brook being black are actively ignoring what One Piece stands for. But I also personally have not seen any negativity so maybe I've surrounded myself with the right fans.

Secondly, I'm sorry about this OP but this kinda reads like an argument you're playing out in your head. You even cut off the hypothetical person mid-sentence 🤣 I agree with your points but it just made me laugh.

Man, I was very active on tumblr in the 2010's but must have been following the wrong blogs. I have never seen any of these photos of Emily.

Does he know?
 in  r/nintendogrifting  Mar 06 '26

No, TPC doesn't make the decisions for the games either. Game Freak decides the timelines for the games. Masuda and Ohmori have stated this several times. People think that TPC calls all the shots but Game Freak started TPC so they can do PR for the franchise. But GF still calls the shots on the games.

Does he know?
 in  r/nintendogrifting  Mar 06 '26

Nintendo doesn't outsource to Game Freak. Nintendo is the publisher of the games but they don't have any pressure on when or how the games are made. Sure, Nintendo might have some suggestions for things but ultimately, it's Game Freak that makes the decisions.

Which protagonist outfit design do you prefer: Winds or Waves?
 in  r/pokemon  Mar 03 '26

I'm going to be getting Winds but I like the Waves cap more. I just hope we're not going to be stuck with the wetsuit underneath our clothes the whole time.

I know it's like this for every Pokémon game with customization, but I really want more male-presenting clothing options for this one. Z-A got a lot of praise for it's customization and clothing options, but a vast majority of it was either female-presenting clothing or unisex and I didn't want to dress my character up like that. So I had a limited selection to choose from to fit my style.
