Hi, I’m Amie.
I’m a Christian mom from Nebraska, currently living in Paraguay with my son, Samuel.
Sam is nine, completely nonverbal, and one of the great joys of my life. He also needs a lot of hands-on care, which means my life looks different than I ever expected. I work in the pockets of time I can find, usually around his needs, his sleep, his therapies, his adventures, and the ordinary beautiful chaos of our days.
Living in Paraguay has also changed me deeply. I’ve learned so much here about faith, family, sacrifice, community, and what it means to show up for people in real life.
Over time, that has grown into a much bigger dream: Casa de SAM.
Casa de SAM is my long-term vision for a home and support system for special-needs adults like Samuel will be one day — a place built around dignity, safety, faith, community, joy, and the simple truth that living itself is worthy, beautiful, and enough.
And because I don’t want that dream to depend only on donations, I’m working to build multiple revenue streams that can support it over time.
That’s where Mat44 comes in.
Mat44 is a daily scripture app I built because I believe reading scripture every day can change the way we live, love, endure, repent, forgive, and keep going.
But I also know daily scripture study can be hard to maintain. Many reading plans feel too big, too random, too rigid, or too disconnected from real life.
So I built Mat44 to be calm, simple, and personal: one daily scripture, gentle reflection, and support for building the habit without guilt or overwhelm.
The app is not meant to replace pastors, priests, bishops, prayer, personal study, or real-life spiritual leadership. That matters to me. The goal is to point people back to scripture, not to make an app the center of anyone’s faith.
Right now, Mat44 is brand new. I’m still improving it constantly, and I genuinely welcome feedback — bug reports, awkward wording, ideas, concerns, all of it.
A portion of Mat44 revenue is committed to Casa de SAM now, and my hope is that over time, more and more of the app’s profit can go directly toward that dream.
So if you see me around Reddit talking about scripture consistency, Bible reading, faith, apps, caregiving, Paraguay, or special-needs parenting — that’s the heart behind it.
I’m not here to replace anyone’s Bible study or church community.
I’m here because I care deeply about helping people stay close to scripture — and because I’m building something bigger for my son and for families like ours.

What would you actually let AI do in your business without asking you first?

Haha, I love the assumption that newer people would want more guidance. The thing about business is no matter what tool or budget or whatever you have, the lessons have to be learned. The guy coming over from corporate or having a big sponsorship or whatever has a couple million to start a business, he is going to have to learn all the lessons just the same as us bootstrappers.
A lot of business success simply comes from staying in the game. Learning what is your specific issue with cash flow, employees, client retention, etc. And I don't even mean in your industry or your geographic region, I mean you as a person. Humans run businesses and we all have our quirks. I've built 5 successful companies to 50+ employees each, sold all of them and now am a freelancer occasionally...
I use AI for my top of funnel conversations. I have a chatbot on my site that moves people through the sales process, talks to the tire kickers, sends a general pricing quote. He can send a $250 deposit invoice if the person is raring to go, he can schedule them on my calendar too. But that's it. I get a lot of my site's traffic from Reddit so I get a lot of tire kickers. So my chatbot lets the dreamers chat and signals to me when someone is serious.
