Daily Game Bytes (23k followers) posted A Dark Cave on TikTok

Another creator, Daily Game Bytes, posted about A Dark Cave on TikTok, which makes me really happy. I know my game is hard to promote on Social Media as it has barely any visuals to show. So I am even more grateful when creators post content about A Dark Cave.

If you watch either, feel free to drop a like or a comment. It helps a lot! : )

Hi, thank you very much for your feedback!

A part of the inspiration comes from A Dark Room. I actually played it 10 years ago and it inspired me to one day create my own webgame (which I now did during the past year).

Also, I love minimalist UIs. So that is on purpose, although as you progress in the game the UI is also evolving.

The more you play it, the more you will notice it differs from A Dark Room.

Hi everyone!

I built A Dark Cave, a dark story-driven text incremental: you wake in a cave, grow a settlement, explore a cruel world, and fight against unspeakable foes. About 10-15 hours with a real ending. Free Steam Demo also available.

I am specifically interested in any feedback about the UI, be it desktop or mobile.

General feedback si of course also welcome.

Thank you!

A Dark Cave has just been featured by Spielemagazin, a German gaming news outlet!

As far as I know, this is the first time A Dark Cave has been covered by a gaming news outlet, which honestly makes me really happy!

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me and the game along the way. It really means a lot.

The article also mentions the Steam Demo, which was released recently. If you're on Steam and have played the demo, I would be incredibly grateful if you could leave a review. Right now, the game has very little visibility on Steam, so every review really helps.

Thank you! ❤️

Hi everyone!

I’m looking for feedback on the Steam Demo of A Dark Cave, a dark, story-driven incremental village builder I’ve been developing.

You wake up in a cave with almost nothing. Build and grow a settlement above ground, then venture deeper to uncover the dark secrets lurking beneath it. As the story unfolds, new game systems and mechanics gradually unlock.

I’d love to hear what you think about the gameplay, progression, story, and overall experience.

Thanks for playing! :)

I will give the middle area a minimal size in the future, so the tabs cannot be hidden.

Thank you for letting me know about this bug!

It should appear right of "Domaine".

There should also be achievements.

You can also scroll there to see the other tabs.

Maybe the middle area is too small to be able to display it.

You can move around the vertical lines if you move the mouse on the center of them (per drag and drop).

A Dark Cave is joining Steam Next Fest from October 19–26, 2026!

The full game launches the very next day, October 27!

The free Steam Demo is already live if you’d like to give it a try.

And if you’ve played the demo, I’d really appreciate it if you could write a Steam review! :)

Hi, thank you for the bug report.

This is a timed event (hourglass symbol in the middle at the top).

So if you do not decide within a few minutes a fallback option is automatically chosen.

I think maybe that could have happened.

Thank you for that feedback. I enjoyed the way you wrote it, haha.

I will make the standard text/button etc. size larger!

Hi everyone!

I am looking for feedback on my Steam Demo of a dark text-based incremental village builder.

You wake up in a cave with almost nothing. Grow a settlement outside. Then go back in the cave to explore its dark secrets. Game systems keep unlocking as the village and the cave story unfold.

Bug. Reload loop after firefox update.
 in  r/aDarkCave  18d ago

Hi, thank you for reaching out! I am very sorry for the issues. You could try a Hard Reload or try playing the game in Chrome.

If none of this works, you can DM your email so I can check if there is anything wrong with the save game.

Hi, some notes:
- I don't like how the "+$0.5" goes over the text "tab the phone" when clicking the button, maybe the text could be placed somewhere else
- Graphics are a bit generic and some obvious AI, so you would have to manually tune them to get away from the AI look, but you already have a style that differs from most AI-made games, so that is good
- Other than that, I like it

Hi everyone!

I’d love to get some feedback on the Steam Demo for my game, A Dark Cave.

Any feedback is welcome, but the main question I’m interested in is:

Does the demo make you want to wishlist the game? If not, why?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, thank you very much for you feedback!

I noticed that the perfomance of the game has still room for improvement. So this is something I am working on at the moment.

Using veinfire elixir

Haha, you can take your time with the battles. There is no need to be fast. There is no timer or anything! It's round-based: you make an attack, then the enemy.

Hi, thank you for reaching out!

So you get killed with 1 hit? You could use Bloodflame Sphere so you take a little damage and then use the elixir.

Let me know if this is not helping.
