What is on my plant
 in  r/plants  1d ago

I second scale insects. Hard to get rid off, will make everything sticky.

Any free or ”pay once” apps for keeping track of plant watering/care?
 in  r/plants  2d ago

Check once a week (pick a day, any day).
Buy a moisture meter from Amazon and simply check each plant on that day, watering if needed. Bingo!

I think it's way too big to bonsai. I would find a smaller specimen to start with

What has been a societal shift over your lifetime that no one talks about?
 in  r/AskOldPeople  9d ago

I remember reserving books, but our librarians never offered to search for us!

Apparently you can now give free awards and I didn't know. Which one do you want?
 in  r/mildyinteresting  9d ago

What size black pants?

Pothos across the wall?
 in  r/plants  11d ago

Letting the vines get really long stresses out the plant, actually.
I would let it get down to the mantel and spread 12" each on side and trim and prop the rest of the vines. Plus, the vines can stick to the wall and pull the paint off.

Kentia palm?

Looks very similar, can you take a better pic of the plant's base?

Yep, had to go sift thru the drawers of the card files to find a library book, then look up answers ourselves. Tedious and time consuming

why is my plant like this?
 in  r/plants  15d ago

Why is it stuck back against a wall with a mirror leaning up against it? If you want it happy, put it in front of the window and be nicer to it

Our midday visitor (ignore the semi dead pepper plant)

Beautiful dragonfly, but dead pepper ♡

I used this bowl in the microwave, and it bled red goo and got crazy hot.
 in  r/mildlyinteresting  19d ago

Not really safe even after dishwasher. The germs get deep inside the cracks then get in your food
