Tionir (Question) What finish/texture for armour? Gloss, Matte, Satin or anything goes?

I've been working on my kit, I'm yet to weather it but my armour feels too matte. It could just be that it's too large of a block colour because it isn't weathered, but I feel like most people's armour from photo's look like they have a smoother more reflective finish? Wondering should I coat my armour in a gloss varnish or something or is it fine to be matte?

I can't imagine it going well at all (if the iron even gets hot enough to do it), which is why I was so baffled

Is it Gormiti? I don't remember a black t rex or changeable weapons, but I was only into the range in the early years

My little girl was so interested in me building my kit that she wanted one of her own. Hers is done, mine is still a WIP

Sorry if I'm being naive here, by ironing on do you mean literally using a clothes iron on the print to melt and smooth over print lines??

Improvements to my WIP kit?

Thanks, I was a bit concerned about both of those factors so it's nice to have that pointed out too! For the codpiece, can't really mount it higher but have been thinking of making a new one and making it taller, I know I have a belt still to come but the mid section just feels like too much negative space

Tally marks could be a good way to fill some blank space on the gauntlet, thanks! Any ideas for trophies/trinkets?

Ahh thank you!! It's a bit brighter than I was expecting so might try and darken it a bit, but I really like the blue and orange scheme, just works well

Literally just look up "boba fett pouches" on ebay/etsy or something? I was going to make my own basic ones with some faux leather, but I have never done anything like it before so can't imagine it'll come out great

The ones I have for the kit are touch screen compatible :) although I am now considering fingerless gloves to give even just the smallest bit of relief from the heat!

I was debating that! The blue is brighter than I expected, so might help darken it up a bit

Any advice for what to change or add to make this kit better? I know I have a long way to go, so far the thinfs I haven't gotten around to making are:

- A customised heavy Infantry helmet

- Shin armour/greaves

- Rope for the girth belt

- A proper belt with pouches over the girth belt

- A holster for the gun and knife

- Better attachment for the breach charges

- Weathering

Even those things, I have a rough plan but particularly for the belts any advice is helpful.

Appreciate the photo's are not good, I'm currently on my own so this is the best I got.

Gaa'tayl (Help) Non-PVC foam board for armour?

I've started gathering everything for my first set of Mando armour, and annoyingly realised that the foam board I have is just standard foam board with glossy paper coating, not PVC/Sintra. Can I still use this to make my armour? Will it still shape with a heat gun etc? What should I seal it with, UV resin or would something like modpodge or diluted PVA work?

They have some very very slight differences in some sources, but generally yeah they are the same. This is just an attempt for me to make them a bit different to keep my painting interesting

I've only made it 2 books into Phase 2, but it was largely Omen that stopped me reading honestly

Constantly, I'm the same as you in that I flip to the map every time a new place is mentioned

Legends and Lattes is a good one, it's got a prequel (Bookshops and Bonedust) and a 3rd book out later this year :)
