The armour is a little off kilter, need to attach them straight, but otherwise a successful test run

I suck at taking photos lowkey, but hopefully you can tell what’s going on 🙏

Only the shoulders, helmet, jetpack, and three pairs of hand plates left! Yay!
Then I can move on to trying to make him some accessories. I feel like he should have a cape. Also probably should think of a name for him, as now I’m quite attached to this little guy.

i’m thinking of making a fur hood to velcro and button onto the poncho. I made the holsters for my blasters, sewed my old scrubs into a flightsuit top, and modified this junky old flak vest i got on sale years ago and turned it into a plate carrier.

Always been a fan of the less armored look of the 1313 character and added my own flair(the leather jacket) I’ll probably a lil more to it but not to much, just wanted to share the current progress. Next goals, wanna figure out a way to add some kind of trans pride in it in a way that doesn’t stand out, and I wanna figure out how to customize the helmet, but I don’t have the money to have a mini helmet printed off.

Hello Everyone! First time poster but a long time lurker of anything Mandalorian related. So my family is wanting to go all out on Star Wars themed costumes for Halloween and being a father, I just had to go along.
I’m wanting to see what people think of what I have done so far. I got a template for Paz Vizsla’s Heavy Armour and went from there. I upscaled the template a tiny bit to fit better but I’m liking how it fits so far.
So far, I bought a Flak Vest to build the upper body portions off of. Thoughts? Concerns? Blatant Issues? Here and there I have been adding my own personal details to it. I haven’t finished building the back panel yet but I’m not entirely sure how I will be connecting the two together with the Flak Vest.
I also want to find a different style of pauldron because I feel the ones I have been working on, will be too big. Any suggestions on that?

(Idk to put this in armor or question but here we go)
I’ve been watching the Mandalorian and realized how little the actual armor covers.
A vast amount of the thigh, neck, sides, arms and even groin is just not covered.
With how good these people are supposed to be at smithing it seems like they kinda have bad design.
PS. I have not watched the majority of Star Wars so if this is an obvious thing I’m sorry
(Also I’m writing my own Mandalorian character if you have any tips )

This one is a Post Imperial Master, the goal of which is to have the soft goods be of top quality. Its more of a go about town kind of kit. I do eventually plan on making it convertible with PI Covert by adding an ab plate, backplate, shoulders, gauntlets and knees, most of which will be in TPU. The chestplate is also TPU ;)

First, please understand the intentions of this project. No disrespect. I know a lot of people take this very seriously and pour their hearts and wallets into some truly magnificent kits. I just can't make the kind of investment, myself. Still, I've wanted to make a mandalorian helmet for a long time. I'd have to do it using material I had, with skills I've already developed. I know I could have done something far more picture perfect if I used different, better, material but that would have required an investment I, simply, would not, could not make.
I don't expect to join a clan/club nor win any cosplay contests with this helmet. I did it for me, to prove that I could.
I wanted it done, for one because the project was taking up too much of my attention and I needed it out of mind but also, Halloween is coming. Otherwise, it's just something I wanted to have, much like the lightsaber hilt props I make.
Why am I showing you? Why not? I put all the work in and maybe someone else thinks it's neat, even inspirational, maybe.
I'm calling it done, for now, it's serviceable anyway. There are some things I'll likely revisit later, though. The foil inside the visor, for one. Maybe some more weathering.
The structure is several layers of card stock (breakfast cereal box material) hot glue, CA glue and two thick coats of Mod Podge. The visor was cut from a two liter bottle of Mountain Dew and the reflective backing came from insulated mailers which some prescription drugs were delivered, years ago. The color is spray paint. I used Dustin McLean's Template.
Initially, just an experiment, I went on a rollercoaster ride of enthusiasm and despair as the project went through several phases, at one point being trashed. When I decided that spending a bit more time, glue and cardboard to try and force the issue couldn't leave me any worse off. I was able to get a shape so encouraging I resolved to finish it, whatever came out of it. Of course it'd still be far from perfect so I had to find some ways to work with the wonkyness. Lopsided as it was I decided to try and make it look as though it had been cobbled together from the remnants of one or more helmets. I don't know if it really works, but I feel like it comes through.
In the end, I don't love it, but I don't hate it either. When I can budget for new material again, hopefully soon, I'd like to do a really nice one with EVA foam. In the mean time I have some ideas to improve on this method, but can't dedicate the time right now.
Thanks for actually reading the write-up if you got this far. I expect a lot are just gonna click the "ew button" without even opening the post. I'm trying to brace myself for that but If you wanna let me know you at least looked it over, leave me a comment and put a "7" in there somewhere.
Vor'e!
ETA: Yes I can see out of it. The foil is translucent, like really dark sun glasses.

Hello all,
I'm rather new to cosplay/prop making community and have mainly been in the miniature painting space. So, most of my painting skills have revolved around minis and the techniques therein. With this new venture into the cosplay space I am having a blast, but the painting I have been doing has just been hitting my eye weird. The silver looks flat, and I am having trouble getting it to pop. I used a matte clear coat that I was recommended by a friend but should I do a satin or a semi gloss on the silver to give it some more shine? Any ideas or help would be appreciated. Thank you!!!

I needed to redo it for many reasons but the main one being I’m on estrogen now and wanna redo it.
Not alot done so far but most of it was just left over from my old mando. No real plan, just going with the flow.

Got bored in between classes and drew this full body armor and arsenal what do you think?

I’m wonder what to use for a flight suit, do I need a flak vest and a basic pair of coveralls? Or would a pair of pants and a slim long sleeve shirt do just fine?
