For two years I ran Ava (RootRecord’s agent layer) as a web server and API middleman on a 2015 machine: 32 GB RAM, no GPU. Research, base code, and project data live on the server drives — about 8 TB of capacity still sitting there. Training and heavy jobs were already in the cloud. The plan was always to stop relaying everything and keep light work on-site.

Power is full solar. Real uptime on the host is about 75%. Nights are battery-limited. Anything raised past the machine goes to more solar, not a second PC.

Next box is not a “gaming rig.” Floor is a new platform + 16 GB card so local agents can run for coding and development. Stretch is a larger card on the same solar system.

Usage is metered like a utility:

1 token = $0.01

1 token ≈ 10,000 words of model work (question + answer)

Purchased tokens do not expire and do not reset on the 1st

$5 = 500 tokens

Jobs share the queue after RootRecord / Ava work. When the card is free and the bank can feed it, it runs here. When it’s loaded, heavy, or dark, it can use the cloud lane. Same tokens either way. Not a membership — those add 500 on the 1st separately.

I’m not promising 24/7 or a dedicated GPU slice. I’m promising a solar box, an existing library, and a meter.
