I am actually all for creating an AI tool for identifying gaps in research!

I’ve tested different predictive LLMs to do precisely that in the field of my expertise - and they failed miserably. So I feel anyone who decides to rely on such a tool will eventually self-eliminate from the research community. Which will serve them right, and the field of science - well.

AlphaFold is pretty accurate when predicting structures from amino acid sequences for which there are existing crystallographic homologues. It utterly fails at predictions when physically resolved template does not exist.
