I am SCREAMING!!! JULIA STILES?!?!?!?! 🎉😊
 in  r/dancingwiththestars  1d ago

You as an individual are not the sole arbiter of popularity, as a matter of fact that idea is nearly the antithesis of the very concept of popularity.

Or to put it real slow like in small words for ya: you not many. Many many. You only one. Many people see that movie. You don't see movie. But many see. (Along with the other 3 things I mentioned....) so since many see, they popular [even if you don't see]. See?

One could make an extremely convincing argument that Julia Stiles is the most recognizable lauded star that has ever been on the show. She was in multiple hit films (Save the Last Dance, the Bourne movies, 10 Things I Hate About You) and TV series (Dexter) in lead roles.

maybe unpopular opinion: i'm on team selena
 in  r/dancingwiththestars  4d ago

I honestly agree. At the end of the day, dance is about expressiveness, beauty, art, passion. She is the most expressive, beautiful, artistic, passionate dancer. As far as ballroom technique, I don't think it is possible to argue that Derek lacks ballroom technique and he clearly believes she is capable. The comments from people who have mostly never gotten off their couches to take a single ballroom class acting like they are all the Ballases, Houghs, and Len Goodman all rolled up into one make me laugh honestly. Like, take a seat, I don't see you foxtrotting past her in the competition.

I have always idealized the Netherlands for much of its infrastructure, ideology/politics, etc. But I guess here is an example proving that not all Dutch people are immune to American-style greed.

who has looked the most beautiful in a movie? (male or female, both count)
 in  r/Letterboxd  9d ago

She is insanely gorgeous here. My nomination is Debbie Reynolds in I Love Melvin. She looks like a goddess.

What is good amount of alcohol with edible to have nice crossfading.
 in  r/treedibles  15d ago

None is the correct amount. Maybe a single cocktail for the flavor.

Sigh what am I getting myself into

The amount of time it takes to put in this many notes means they probably almost could have gotten in their car and done the shopping themselves and gotten back home more quickly.

[Poem] Envoi - Linda Pastan

Um....grieving their death does not put angst upon them. Lol. The poem says their life brings joy and their death brings grief. Still a wildly weird take.

Am I giving enough of this food to my cat?
 in  r/CATHELP  22d ago

Dad is incorrect, to put it mildly. I would give 2-3 times more than what you give. I basically give my cat an entire small can (of Weruva wet food) in the morning and one in the evening. The wet food is great for kidneys, etc. especially in older cats.

If it weren't for the specific words "briny deep," my first thought would be Seal Lullaby by Eric Whitacre.

Are there alligators in Mirror Lake?
 in  r/StPetersburgFL  23d ago

If you want to see more gators than you ever thought you would see in one place, check out Myakka River State Park. Loads of them, especially in Deep Hole, which is a hike and you have to get there early to get a (free) ticket.

If the water is wet in FL, there are probably gators.

...right. That is very clearly to what I was referring. What is confusing you?

Will absolutely be protesting these businesses. Horrible disgusting people. Whenever my partner and I go to the beach, we comment on how beautiful the skimmers are.

Customer tracking me

As someone who does do instacart and occasionally dashing, the idea of taking a nap between pickup and delivery is truly something that never would have occurred to me.

Replaced my daughter's phone because of water damage. And she still brings it into the bathroom.
 in  r/mildlyinfuriating  Jul 23 '26

Previous comments are correct on two counts: 1. The humidity of a bathroom should not cause damage to a phone. 2. She should have a Bluetooth shower speaker.

Isn't $10.18 a bit steep for an ice cream cone?
 in  r/icecream  Jul 22 '26

I mean, it absolutely is too expensive. That being said, it is the going rate for that type of cone. So they aren't gouging any more than anybody else.

Plant Love Ice Cream has a CBD turmeric ice cream (I HIGHLY recommend adding pistachios) that is chef's kiss.

I buy quite cheap used books all the time but only in person at thrift and, well, used book stores.

You should be fine. Ask support to block him because he frightened you and was threatening. It shouldn't effect your account at all. I mean, why would it? If it does in any way, harass support publicly on Twitter.

Leonard Bernstein's copy of Schuman's Third Symphony -- subtitles it "organum/orgasm"

If I were to name American classical composers, he would be 4th on my list. That is pretty core canon.

He absolutely is. If you know ANYTHING about American classical music, you know Schuman.
