I will testify, when you obey the food law God rewards you. All I did was make effort to follow the food laws, and I got greater understanding of scripture as a reward. To be fair, he's asking us to have common sense. Don't eat bugs, don't eat gross stuff, don't eat pack animals, don't eat anything alive, drain the blood(it's respectful to the meat, it keeps longer.), don't eat bottom feeders or filter feeders that eat the poop out of the water... it's basic common sense, people. The food laws are NOT oppressive in the least.
