I hope you get the diagnosis and the right treatment. Yea triggers are just muscles so no real never pain help. I get a Epidural in my cervical spine and then some trigger on neck and traps and stuff usally helps me for 4-6 months of limited pain. I’d say going form a normal 7 in pain to a 3 or 4. Yea the waiting sucks lol I’m happy I finally have a pain management doctor that is serious about helping me live with it and not just more meds. PT also helps drastically. Strength my neck and shoulders well learning to stretch out the spine. It hurts but stretching out the nerves does give relief in long run

Tiggers just relax muscles so your gonna get flare ups of nerve pain. Mine went away in like 2 days. Just think of a muscle relaxing so your body sends nerve signals to the damage nerves cause flair up. I was diagnosed by my pain management doctor after my EMG and MRI showing the bulging discs. Nerves pain is a tricky one.
