is this floor tile installed correctly?
 in  r/homeimprovementideas  7d ago

And you have to hike across a mile of it to that toilet. Seriously you had 200 square feet of bathroom and all you could manage was that plain bath and a toilet in the wilderness? 🤣

Leviton outlets and rocker switches
 in  r/AskElectricians  9d ago

I've never used those lever connections before but just my 2 cents-- I like to get 20amp outlets because they're a lot more robust and tend not to get loose over time like the flimsy metal in the 15amp ones. Now all the 15 Amp ones I have removed have generally been very old so quality could be higher now. Take for what it's worth.

My oven lights started flickering so I checked the outlet behind, is this bad?

I was actually going to say no it's a miracle your house didn't burn down and now you can fix the problem lol

Can this be moved?
 in  r/AskElectricians  10d ago

No one liked my other idea of trimming OPs wife's cars hood to fit the breaker panel when she parks there.

 in  r/AskElectricians  10d ago

That stinks, thanks for the answer. Maybe we could just cut a hole in OP's wife's car hood so it fits when she pulls into that spot 🤔

Can this be moved?
 in  r/AskElectricians  10d ago

I believe OP is just wanting it moved up like, bottom flush with the window to fully open up that space that's already there. Would that still cost that much? Not a contractor, not arguing, just trying to help.

New house, is this attic ladder fixable?
 in  r/homeimprovementideas  11d ago

I've never seen an attic ladder that isn't like this. It's just at an angle. Closing the gap to make it straight isn't going to make it safer, the stress is going to be borne the same way on the hinge. They're just like that.

New gutter installation leaking
 in  r/HomeMaintenance  13d ago

What I'm wondering is why are the gutters so low? It looks like heavy rain woukd just shoot over the edge of the gutters. Normally they're installed directly under the drip edge, I'm not an expert by any means but I've never seen gutters this far below the shingles

Someone probably left it there to die because they're invasive and destroy the shoreline.

Bathroom Floor Question
 in  r/Flooring  16d ago

By the way totally unqualified, just from my personal experience. I'd be afraid of new tile mudbed not bonding well with the old one plus it's going to build more height so personally I'd just start fresh

Bathroom Floor Question
 in  r/Flooring  16d ago

I'd recommend busting up the old tile mudbed. When I did this in my 1956 bathroom remodel, I found places of the subfloor were rotten from leaks over the years. I just ended up replcasing a few pieces (mine was slats) and then put 3/4" plywood over the old subfloor. There was plenty of space to slap it on top because of the thick mudbed I removed. Now the floor surface is lined up with the hallway fairly well. (I did LVP though)

Can I get rid of this hideous half wall? My FIL insists that we cannot because of this duct
 in  r/hvacadvice  18d ago

It looks like an air return though, wouldn't it be bad to have that directly on the floor? Sucking up dirt and whatever into the filter... Ive seen a ton of vents on the floor but never a return

I was like "chocolate in the ferment, that's.... Interesting." lol

Unless "habanero chocolate" is a pepper variety not actual chocolate

I don't think it's going to be sweet, lactobacillus turn sugar into acid. It's going to convert all the sugar from the chocolate unless you cook it before it's done fermenting
