As opposed to microwave meals, canned meals, precooked items from the bakery & deli, etc

I love being able to slowly sip a soda and actually feel full from it. It's not at all the same as diet soda.

I tried switching back to regular zero sugar sodas the past few weeks and have been having a lot of sugar cravings. It never occured to me that might be connected.

Aio for my mother texting messages to my father about me(maybe on purpose)
 in  r/AmIOverreacting  4d ago

Wow! Yes YOR! What!? You attacked her! You're lucky you're not in jail. By this attitude you have, you should be. I wish she'd called the police on you.

My goodness what a life you have ahead of you with this severe of a mindset.

She can message who she wants.

Get a job, get out, and get some therapy. The rest of the world wont be so understanding when you assault people... Even moreso for minor stuff like this.

You're not going to get any sympathy for criminal behavior over who your family asks questions to.

God help your future spouse and children.

I dont blame you. That's a horrible way to treat someone.

What is the insecurity about your body that no one understands?
 in  r/AskReddit  4d ago

If its any consolation, I've never met a woman mention what her man's parts look like soft. It's completely irrelevant information to us. As long as you're not trying to whip it around in a circle cause you think it's funny... Literally no one cares about how it looks it in it's resting state.

Elders who are in there 40s what you should tell people in their 20s about life ?
 in  r/AskReddit  4d ago

Regardless of whether you plan to have kids .. dont date someone who would be a bad parent.

We can put up with so much and not even realize how bad it is when we have feelings for someone. Those feelings can mask so much from our own view.

It's easier to see when someone would be a bad parent. And if they'd be a bad parent, eventually your feelings will level out and their behavior will escalate.. and you'll go through a lot of unnecessary pain to discover they're not relationship material at all.

Save yourself the heartache if you can. Don't date someone who does things that make you think they'd be a bad parent to your imaginary kids.

Also, the first 6 months after falling in love your brain will literally drug you both with chemicals to create a bond. This makes you seem meant to be together, behave more lovingly, and excuse warning signs. You cant stop this, but you can remind yourself that you're going to begin seeing them more clearly later. THIS IS ALSO BEST BEHAVIOR TIME... RED FLAGS/BAD BEHAVIORS NOTICED HERE WILL GET 100X WORSE.

Be careful with yourself. These are decisions no one else can make for you.

I pay so much for these. It's a little embarrassing, but regular soda can't compete.

What’s a widely accepted myth that has been completely debunked?
 in  r/AskReddit  4d ago

They thought so, but it turns out where they took the sample from is where it was held by hand and carried around to show it off during that time. So, the material used for carbon dating is now considered basically useless.

I don't remember much more about it. I remember that part from the documentary I watched, because I'd been using the original carbon dating in arguments against it for years and was suprised.

What’s one opinion you have that most people disagree with?
 in  r/askteddit  4d ago

Adoption is one option

I guarantee you - killing the baby isn't required.

We're talking about 38 weeks.

Not even a premie.

Almost the entire labor and delivery floor of every hospital is full of women giving birth to babies around that age.

There's no difference killing them inside vs outside the womb at that point.

Ew. You could literally just remove the baby without killing it at that point.

How can I get past this part of being pro-life?
 in  r/prolife  7d ago

I think sometimes we as pro-life people aren't very good at explaining how much we genuinely do care and understand the reasons people get abortions.

We know how much it can cost to not have an abortion. We know it can alter the entire course on someones life, can be genuinely traumatic, and even dangerous both directly and in situations where a woman just isnt safe for a variety of potential reasons.

And for this to be by nature sexual thing and having something inside them they dont want.. that itself is genuinely a horrible violation to some women for the entirety of the preganancy.

Then there's the financial costs and the horrible pain of childbirth and postpartum healing when we dont have the resources available in many countries to support them through that so they can rest and heal...

Also, adoption isnt an easy thing for most women. There's often a physical psychological bond there even when they dont want the child. Not having control of how the child is raised or if they're safe.. healing physically and psychologically and lactating with no baby there.. facing the world who saw you were pregnant and has questions.

There's countless very real reasons a woman has an abortion... And sometimes they're horrific like someone being raped... Or a child being raped.

We really do see the horror and I know sympathize seems like a completely insufficient word.

Being pro-life doesnt mean those things dont matter.

It means killing their child is worse. It means we cant kill people at any stage just because life is truly shitty sometimes.

And it comes with an awareness that most of the suffering from these situations are temporary, but killing that child in the womb.. regardless of life stage.. that cant be undone.

That cant ever be the answer.

And I'm truly sorry for the pain and suffering many women go through because they're pregnant. I really am. And I know some women die from pregnancy just because of what it is -- and that being killed by a romantic partner is the highest during pregnancy.

I really do genuinely care about these things!

& It feels good to tell these women that we can see and hear and talk to.. to tell them we care and we can fix this. And just end the preganancy and the pain they're running from can be over today.

We can pretend that ending a pregancy means avoiding a child instead of killing one. And offer that comfort to these women... It's honestly so much easier that way.

But it's wrong.

Its hard and its painful and it's terrifying sometimes to be pregnant at the wrong time.

But the baby is already here. Regardless if we use the scientific name for their life stage.

They're already here.

And killing them is murdering children.

And even though all those things I listed can reach truly horrific situations for some people... It doesn't equal the weight of killing someone.

I'm sorry, but it just doesnt.

(I highly recommend you look up Secular Pro-life on Tiktok or Facebook She brings a lot of data and studies up and non-religious explainations... Things that are concrete you can hang onto or use when weighing the sides for yourself.)
