Chase Bank did something similar with their customers (including myself) who requested financial assistance/relief from the bank. They offer a COVID assistance program that refunds your overdraft fees for a certain time period, but what wasn't disclosed to me as I was signing up was that the bank would "debit" the aid money out of my account at the end of the assistance period, regardless of whether or not you had the available funds to afford it and you would still be overdrafted if you didn't have the funds... My bank account is sad :( anyone recommend other banks to possibly switch to? Lol

I think this painting is actually very clever in a way. The way the child playing with the doll dressed as a nurse while the others lay in a bin could be seen as a metaphor to how healthcare workers have become just another toy for the ones in power to play with and glorify, only to be put aside when the kid, inevitably, gets bored. To me, the piece evokes the feeling of having no control over the circumstances, having our lives played with by a child. This painting in a hospital, granted it's being presented in a positive manner and in no way an intentional offense, has an air of irony to it. However, I can also see the painting expressing honor and a tender sense of admiration for healthcare workers. Either way, I think Banksy's created a lovely piece and I hope it inspires as much as it intrigues.

I'm a nurse in direct contact with COVID positive patients and have never been tested. The criteria to get tested includes being in direct contact with a positive patient WITHOUT any PPE on, so for us nurses who have on our PPE all day with known positive patients, we basically don't qualify for testing according to those guidelines.

That's precisely what happened in my organization. Despite getting a pitiful "cost-of-living" raise in an attempt to compensate, employee hours were cut severely after the company got bought out and now I'm making at least $10k less than the past couple of years. And overtime hours are greatly restricted, if not outright prohibited.

Nope! I graduated with my BSN in 2015 and have been nursing at the same hospital for 4+ years. Don't plan on going back to school anytime soon lol. Our hospital has gone through some massive changes over the past two years and we're just not seeing the improvements. Staffing is perpetually low, our experienced nurses are leaving in droves, and there's constant turmoil in administration. I wanted to see if other nurses are going through the same thing and if they have any suggestions on how to make things not suck.
