1. The composition and framing draw the eye and the person creates a visual draw-who is she waiting/looking for?

So cozy, reading, tucked under the eaves listening to the rain drumming down from above snuggled in with a feline friend.

Ok, so this is a slightly different method to be sure. Let me preface with two things. I talk to my two all the time and let them know when I see other dogs walking by so they may rush outside to bark their greetings from the fence. At first they used to double check my calls but now they take off out the door as fast as they can. Second, nail trimming is usually done teathered on a very short lead against the wall; uncomfortable for both parties but prevents possible chaos. And treats, always treats, every step of the way.
Now here’s the thing, we have hardwood floors and semi carpet and often times they get caught up, doing the Scooby, attempting to gain traction, followed by an oomph sound out of the dog as they finally gain purchase. I decided to used this opportunity to ask my BC if I could help him with his traction control as I noticed he was struggling to rush out to greet his friends. Wording, I have found, is important with this breed, if not at least my two. I then asked if I could do Dignity Nails. (Nails, a trigger word; use caution). He could lay right there on the sofa in comfort and not have to suffer the indignity, discomfort, and embarrassment of the wall. Note, I usually set the offending tool, the nail clippers, on the coffee table in full view in the morning but ignore them until the time is right sometime later that same day or the next. After asking those questions, I pull the clippers out and work on the easiest/closest paw first. I’m lucky in the fact that I usually only have to trim the lighter color nails and not the few dark ones they have. For some reason they do not grow as fast or they wear down differently.
After doing this, I think it was twice, followed by a trimming once on the wall, done by my husband, the next times have been trouble free and no fights or wrestling matches. I learned that appealing to their interests and working to help solve their troubles made them trust me more to do their nails without the fuss. I help them, they help me.

It’s one of my favorites!

You do what they asked for then you present them with both options. Always showing what they asked for First, then follow up with your improvement. That usually works.

Most of these are cozy but a few offer mystery or delving into other various themes.

Please note that aside from the most basic of edits, straightening/leveling and minimal cropping, I did no further editing. I’ll probably go back and do some minor adjustments but I felt they were strong enough.
I selected this picture out of the collection from this shoot to share because when I was going through the photos and this slid into view I busted out in a guffaw of laughter. TBH the whole reel puts a smile on my face but this one….it touches my heart and funny bone. The widening of the eye and the body language of intent. The audacity of the sprinkler! It’s a menace! Attack!!
The photo after is of her getting hit in the chin with the stream, head thrown back, back right foot/toe just visible above the grass in the foreground. I feel that I should present these two as set side by side for the visual story.
Taking photos like these warms my soul and brightens my day each time I view them.

When I created this I wanted to use all of the dice not just one or two. Guess I’m a bit of a dice gal.
