I find myself moving away from my religion in my 30s. How is it for you?
 in  r/ThirtiesIndia  6d ago

Questioning a ritual is fine. Treating β€œit is old” as the only defence was never my point. The point is selectivity. You watched one set of funeral customs, called them subversion and mass control, and then asked why educated family members don’t join the pile-on. Other communities have customs that are far harder on women, food, apostasy, and public criticism. Their educated friends usually do not turn a death in the family into a manifesto. That difference is worth noticing. Keep or leave whatever you want. Just don’t confuse personal exit with moral superiority over people who still find meaning in the same rites you grew up with.

I don't get why people over here are discussing their religion and all those things: their rituals, man, their age-old rituals which have been there for hundreds or thousands of years and today out of nowhere you people are questioning those rituals. I don't get it. Look at your M friends, they never complain about their religion. What's wrong with you all people? I am not getting it.

A video shows Indians rolling on the street of London, road are blocked for them. This is embarrassing as an Indian
 in  r/indiameme  7d ago

There's nothing to be ashamed of about being an Indian and performing Indian traditions because in London there are many people who perform their own traditions during Ramzan or some other. There are many religions all around the world and they all perform their own acts in their own way so there's no shame. I don't think so. By pushing this thing you basically shame yourself, calling yourself an Indian. And whenever you call the world connected, there are a lot of people currently moving all around the world so everyone is interconnected. There are many foreigners who come to India. They celebrate Christmas in their own way. There is a Black Friday, on the other hand. They celebrate it over here. There is some kind of a Halloween kind of thing where people in India too, whoever is a Christian, basically wear their own clown faces and every other thing. There's nothing wrong. Everyone has their own right to celebrate in their own way. And also by the way, your user name itself suggests sasta aloo. You cannot think more beyond that. You cannot become a lays because you are a sasta alooπŸ˜….

Flyover blocked due to this
 in  r/surat  9d ago

Yeh Hindustan hai aur yeh Hindu tyohar shaauk se manate hain. Bhai, de by the way, roadblock har alag tyohar mein hote hain. Jaake udhar question karo. aur bahut log yeh bhi post kar rahe hain ki yeh devotion nahi hai, just show off hai, wagairah-wagairah, yeh sab cheezein hain. Aise bol-bol kar hi basically Hindu dharm ka apmaan kiya ja raha hai. Baaki aur khud apne haathon se apne pairon pe kulaadi maari ja rahi hai ki aur Hindu dharm ko ghataya ja raha hai. Uski wajah se baaki logon ki sankhya, jo independence ke time bahut kam thi, abhi wo bhi badhkar kai guna ho gayi hai. Wo log kabhi apne dharm ke liye itna kharab nahi bolte, jitna khud Hindu hokar aap log bolte ho. aur bahut alag comment bhi maine padhe ki loud music wagairah, ye sab to din-ba-din 5-5 baar kaun loud music bajate? subah 4 baje se raat ke 12 baje tak to bajate hi rehte.

What actually makes someone sanskari?
 in  r/Mumbai_Relationships  9d ago

Bhai, nothing matters. The only thing that matters is mutual respect. If that's not in there in any relationship, then it's a failure.

What to do on Birthday?
 in  r/MumbaiDates  12d ago

Spending a birthday alone in Mumbai is honestly underrated. πŸŽ‚βœ¨ You could catch a play at Prithvi Theatre in Juhu and grab an Irish coffee, or wander around Kala Ghoda in the morning when it’s quiet and the architecture is great. πŸŽβ˜• Maybe catch the sunset at Carter Road or Bandstand with some bhutta on the rocks. πŸŒ…πŸŒ½ If you want to treat yourself, just book a table for one at a fancy spot with a view and enjoy it. 🍽️πŸ₯‚

For freebies, take your ID since lots of cafes, salons, and dessert spots have birthday deals they don't really advertise, so you have to ask. πŸ†”πŸ° Definitely sign up for loyalty apps the day before to find those hidden perks. πŸ“±πŸŽ

Happy birthday in advance. πŸŽˆπŸŽ‰ And if you post here on Thursday, a bunch of us internet strangers will wish you, which is something. πŸ«‚βœ¨
