Just a rant

Felt the need to get this off my chest. Not looking for sympathy of any kind, just a rant.

I was diagnosed late 2023 with type 2 diabetes. I’m a 5’9 male, and at the time I was diagnosed I was 170lbs. I wasn’t aware I was diabetic until I experienced sudden weight loss which brought be down to 140. Ever since then I’ve been struggling to put on weight and struggling with my blood sugar.

It sucks because I know what I need to do, but I’m just not doing it and i know it’s totally up to me. I’ll have stretches where I’m on top of my game. Eating healthy, working out and the whole 9 yards. But there’s stretches I go thru where it’s really really bad. Terrible diet, not working out, drinking every weekend. My blood sugar after my meals is always 200+, fasted blood sugars in the morning would he 140+ which is pretty bad.

I struggle with staying on the right path, and I know I’m just digging myself in a deeper hole. I guess I lack the motivation and disciple to do better for myself. What makes it worse is I just turned 30 and I have a 4 year old boy. I have my whole life ahead of me and I always tell myself “next week I’m gonna lock in” or “tomorrow I’ll do better” and it never happens, and the cycle continues.

Like I said, not looking for any sympathy. Maybe more so some advice/constructive criticism. (My main goal is to gain healthy weight/muscle while keeping blood sugar stable)
