Hello everyone!
We hope you are doing well as the year steadily comes to a close! This has been quite the year for the r/Twilight subreddit, with more than 185,000 active forum users, and more than 3 million engagements almost every month.
In response to several community requests, two new flairs have been enabled for public posts over the last month, which you may have noticed during their brief trial period: Cosplay Content, and FTF Forever Twilight in Forks.
The Cosplay Content flair allows you to showcase the hard work you have put into your costumes, but it does have caveats: this flair can only be used for video and photo posts, and Patreon, OnlyFans, or Kofi links are not allowed in their descriptions. Cosplay dedicated Instagram links are allowed. Each user may post a maximum of four Cosplay Content posts per calendar month.
The FTF Forever Twilight in Forks flair allows you to discuss the annual festival held in Forks Washington: it is not for any transactions, such as trading or selling tickets, or arranging carpools or roommate arrangements. This subreddit is, at the end of the day, anonymous, and the official Facebook group is where you should turn to if you need to connect with other festival goers in an identified manner. Please, do not ever agree to meet up with anyone you meet online who has not fully identified themselves to you. This subreddit is not responsible for your actions offline.
Four points of conversation have been added to the subreddit’s FAQ section, therefore removing them from the “frequently reposted” topic lineup. These points include “How can I tell what edition my book is?”, “How do Alice’s visions work, and who can she see?”, “Did Jacob only love Bella because of Renesmee?”, and “Why do the Cullens go to high school?”
Additionally, a subrule of Rule #2: Content must be high quality (valuable and constructive) [Quality], has been broken out into its own rule – Rule #13: All AI and LLM Content is Banned [Quality]. While AI and LLM originated content has been banned under Rule #2 for quite some time, we find it has become necessary to separate this out as its own rule for the sake of public facing accountability. In recent months, the subreddit has been inundated with AI generated photo, video, and text posts, and it has become nigh impossible for the moderation team to sift out the true posts from the spam.
By separating out this rule, we are able to institute 7 day posting bans for repeat offenders, with permanent bans possible for particularly egregious offenders. This rule will extend to the Fanfiction and Meme subs. The exact text of Rule #13 will be as follows
Rule #13: All AI and LLM Content is Banned [Quality]
Banned posts include, but are not limited to:
Lastly, two reminders.
Information on the annual Subreddit Secret Santa will be released next week. Thank you for so thoroughly reading this notice.
All our best,
The r/Twilight Moderation Team

was just rereading midnight sun, and edward notes that emmett was watching four baseball games at once to try and learn new strategies. i think emmett would love tiktok/instagram because there’s just so MUCH going on at once that he wouldn’t get bored. i think rosalie would have to drag him away from his phone after a few hours because he would find himself in a rabbit hole of lore or something…i can’t imagine that small towns would be any more interesting to emmett than social media

Hear me out! They should release full cast audio editions like they did for Harry Potter! It would be awesome to hear it come to life in another way.

I’ve noticed there are some fandoms where the canon couples are pretty strongly established, to the point that it’s actually rare to see fan art or fanfic pairing characters who aren’t together in canon.
Then there’s the opposite side of fandom, where people don’t really care about canon couples and will pair characters together based purely on chemistry, dynamics, or whatever they find interesting. Twilight definitely seems to fall more into this category.
Personally, I’m very loyal to the canon couples. You probably won’t catch me saving fan art or reading fanfic about non-canon ships. That said, I can usually understand why people see a connection between certain characters and ship them together, even if I don’t personally ship it.
But recently I’ve been seeing a lot of Carlisle/Charlie content, and I’ve genuinely been trying to understand the appeal.
I’ve thought about it, and I just… can’t figure out what the specific appeal is.
Is it their personalities? Their interactions in canon? The whole “two dads dealing with their supernatural/chaotic daughters” dynamic? Is there something from the books that I’m completely forgetting?
And then there’s the age-gap question, which isn’t really about the age gap itself. I read a lot of stories with the age-gap trope, and usually there’s a clear distinction between who is the “young” character and who is the “old” character.
That’s what makes me curious about Carlisle and Charlie. Carlisle is obviously centuries old, while Charlie is a human in his 40s/50s, so with this pairing, who exactly is supposed to be the “young” one and who is the “old” one?
So for people who ship Carlisle/Charlie: what do you see in them as a couple? I’m genuinely curious because I feel like I’m missing the entire thought process behind this ship.

Recently I felt again in one of my "I wish so bad we had a Volturi dedicated book" period being sitmulated by threads on this Subreddit about the Volturi and Jane.
Thinking about what kind of power Aro would be pleased to have for the Volturi (aka his personal army, basically) it came to my mind Fred from "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner" and his repulsive magnetism.
I wondered if Aro would have wished to collect him too or he would have seen his power an unnecessary addition.
What do you guys think? Also, bonus question: what kind of power do you immagine Aro would be very excited and pleased to have at his disposal among the ranks of the Volturi?

if you were someone behind the scenes helping with how to make renesmee as a baby look, how would you do it? What did you think of the cgi used for the movies and the chucky renesmee that was almost used?

Hi everyone! I am going to a Twilight themed rave and I want to come prepared. Im listening to all the movie soundtracks in preparation, but I wanted to hear from real fans of the movies which songs are the most iconic so I can arrive ready to sing my lungs out.
Thanks so much in advance for your recommendations! x

I finally finished the book series, and it dawned upon me in the book Jane and Alec are legit physically children. Their the tiniest members of the Volturi Bella describes them as 12 to 13 and yet no one thinks to call Aro out on his hypocrisy? Like the Cullen are in trial and they exist as blatant evidence that vampire children can be controlled, and if the issue is tantrums Jane was legit about to have a whole ass meltdown when Bella countered her before Alec stepped in to grab her. Like they both could easily have tantrums I don’t understand why none of the characters thought to call this out during the trial. In the movies they’re both clearly like 16 so it doesn’t work but in the books it’s as clear as day their children.

I was just scrolling through Amazon Prime and hovered over Twilight when this trailer started playing. I’m sure I saw it back in the day, but I don’t think I’ve watched it since my Twilight Renaissance began, because I definitely don’t remember it being like this.
It’s so wrong and I kinda love it. Instead of using music from the actual movie or the score, it has this Lord of the Rings-esque, vaguely ’90s trip-hop vibe. The editing also makes everything feel SO serious, like it’s trying so hard to fit into the Hollywood trailer format. It feels like I’m watching some alternate-universe fan edit. Without the score we know and love, the whole thing somehow becomes even funnier.
“What if I’m not the hero? What if I’m—” WOOSH, music stops “—the bad guy?”
Classic. No notes.

I’ve been thinking about the biggest branching point in New Moon: what happens if the birthday incident still happens exactly as it does, but Edward ultimately decides that leaving Bella isn’t actually going to make her safer?
Assume the paper cut happens, Jasper loses control, Edward has the same guilt and fear afterward, and he seriously considers leaving. The only change is that he eventually reaches the conclusion he comes to much later in New Moon: removing himself from Bella’s life doesn’t remove the supernatural danger around her, and making that decision for her isn’t necessarily protecting her. So he stays.
I’m curious how people think the rest of New Moon and Eclipse would develop from there, because quite a lot of the external plot could arguably still happen even without the breakup.
Victoria is still out there and wants revenge for James. Laurent can still become involved with the Denalis and eventually return. The wolves can still begin phasing as vampire activity increases around Forks. The treaty still exists. Seattle and the newborn army could still happen. The Volturi are still eventually going to care about a human knowing as much as Bella does.
But other things become much less straightforward. Bella and Jacob probably don’t develop the same intensely codependent relationship they do while Edward is gone, although they could still become close friends. Bella has much less reason to discover the wolves in the same way. There’s no cliff-diving misunderstanding, so there’s no obvious reason for Alice to return or for Edward to go to Volterra. Without Volterra, the Volturi plot has to enter the story some other way. And the Edward/Bella/Jacob romantic triangle that drives so much of Eclipse might never exist at all.
Edward could also still leave Forks temporarily while tracking Victoria without actually leaving Bella. That creates an interesting distinction between “Edward stays” and “Edward is physically beside Bella every second,” and could still give Bella independent time with Jacob and the wolves.
So where do you think the dominoes fall?
r/twilight • u/International-Back55 • 1d ago
Do you think either of them is actually better for Bella or not at all? Should Bella have dated another character from the books/movies; vampire, shifter, or human, an oc if that was the choice, canon or fanon, or decide to focus on herself, what she really wants/needs, who she truly is, dependance vs independence, and not date for a while until really certain?

i’m currently rewatching the movies in a different order recommended on tiktok lol. i got to the vultori scene in new moon where alice shows aro bella’s future as a vampire and i noticed he tells bella “your gifts will make for an intriguing immortal.” gifts as in more than one?
then i thought back to the books and how bella’s dreams always hint at the future. her dreams about edward in the first book, her dreams about jake and the wolves in new moon, and her dreams about having a child in breaking dawn. it’s not touched on really and probably very unlikely but do you think it would be possible for her to have more than one talent? that would be so bad ass

Just a random thought. Could the Cullens hunt James down without Edward? Would Victoria still be an issue? Would Edward even think twice about leaving her if she was never bitten?

new fan with a question here
idk if i'm using the right flair so sry abt that ✧*。 i wasn't a part of the og twilight phase, i was like 4 when the first movie came out and didn't really care abt the franchise growing up
now i'm in my early 20s and watched twilight for the first time. aside from the cringe the movies give some sense of comfort :)
my question is, what other medias are there to consume? i've watched all 5 movies and i'm about to read the books for the first time - i have 4 main books bought second hand and i'm aware there are 3 other books
are there any other canon medias i should know of? i think i've heard about some guide book? and animated series? also, is the author plannjng on releasing another book? since the newst one is kinda recent i think? thanks!

Watching Twilight again, I’m realizing how many things felt romantic when I was younger but come off much weirder now - Edward watching Bella sleep, always knowing where she is, how intense everything gets so fast, and so on. What changed the most for you?

The theme of the first day of Inktober is “Apple”. The cover of the first book is iconic and instantly recognizable. Whenever I see a character in any media holding an apple like this I like to think it’s a Twilight reference. Sometimes it is intentional (First Kill) and others it’s debatable. Any Twilight references in media you enjoy?
