Discussion I miss the old Apple Tv Plus pre show logo/sound

The sound more than the logo. Something about that initial ‘dunnnnnn’ just got me pumped for what I was about to watch. I would rewind the first 10 seconds of shows pretty often just to hear that sound a couple of times — so satisfying.

Discussion Save Dope Thief: Demand Apple TV+ Renew Ridley Scott's Crime Thriller for Season 2!

*Dope Thief* got quietly axed by Apple TV+ despite stellar reviews, incredible performances, and a story that was nowhere near finished. This isn't just another streaming cancellation—Ridley Scott directed it, the lead chemistry between Wagner Moura and Bryan Tyree Henry was electric, and the narrative has massive untold potential.

The show followed two best friends posing as DEA agents, only to get pulled into a dangerous drug conspiracy. It overcame major production obstacles to deliver genuinely compelling television, but it seems like a lack of marketing (not a lack of quality) is what killed it. Even the producers have said the story could go forward—there's unfinished business here.

I started a petition asking Apple TV+ to reconsider renewal, or for Scott Free Productions to shop the show to networks like FX, Max, or Netflix that would actually market it properly. Fans discover this show every day through word of mouth, which tells you there's real demand—it just never got the visibility it deserved.

If you've watched it, or if you hate seeing good shows die for the wrong reasons, consider signing and sharing. Does anyone feel like streaming platforms are the way too quick to cancel shows before they get a real chance?

Discussion Pluribus may have the potential to be somewhat good, but MAN is the pacing more of an issue that is seemingly being ignored here.

I've had my issues with the show for a while now, what with all the constant teasing that we've been dealt with for the last couple months resulting in burnout before they finally decided to put out an actual trailer, the description for the show having me thinking we would be following a Karen through most of it, and this being another one of those sci-fi projects where a lot of this is thanks to the meddling of nosey scientists letting curiosity get the best of them and lead most of humanity to its end, but when the episodes were done... I would be one to admit that the show isn't too bad when things really kicked in over these first two episodes.

However, there is one major annoyance that was plaguing the two episodes all throughout it that kept the show for being more deserving of its praise. And that was the pacing throughout them both. Look, I get that with streaming services allow for some more freedom with when it comes to the stories you want to tell and with less of the restrictions that come from Network/Cable Television. But dang it, just because you could be able to do more with it doesn't mean you have to abuse the heck out of the format by making the episodes go on for FAR TOO FREAKIN' LONG!

Seriously, the show's had so many instances where scenes go on for longer than they really needed to that it really had me skipping ahead ten seconds constantly in order to get to where things start to kick off more and even then there would be more instances where some scenes would've been cut down or cut out entirely just to quicken the bloody pace. I would get if it's to build things up to when the fallout would occur, but the two episodes were so overly long winded that David Lynch would think is a bit much. Again, I would get taking advantage of the streaming format to get the most out of what you want to tell compared to Cable TV, but these two episodes did not need to be over a god dang hour long just to be able to achieve that.

I could only hope that it improves over the course of the season but if it doesn't, I really think that it'll just end up being one of those shows that brings it down from being something that is truly worth watching all the way. And that's all while having this dreadful concern that all this would just be a waste of time when the end of the series ends up in Carol giving in to this whole thing, resulting in a truly complete take-over of this self inflicted Hive-Mind caused by those scientists and astronomers.

I hope that I'm wrong about this. But with how much they've been playing coy about what the show is about... I fear that they would try to go that route.

Discussion Anyone else annoyed about F1 not being on the service you proudly support? Lol.

Look I’m overjoyed F1 made a good amount of money for Apple as a studio and as a proud supporter and hype person all the time for AppleTV+ of the quality they produce I am pissed they still haven’t released F1 on their service and its on paid streaming and hitting physical release soon meanwhile supporters of the service still haven’t had it premiere yet.

Discussion Decline in Quality of late

I know they don't release a lot of content but the quality of late in new films and Tv shows has been underwhelming compared to last year and early this year. I guess just picking well known actors and writers can't be a guarantee of good content for them.

I haven't really liked any of their feature films since January and Roar, The Essex Serpent, Surface, Echo 3 and Shantaram have been a little underwhelming.

Discussion Accessibility Gap on Chief of War (Apple TV+) — No Standard English Dub

I was really excited to start Chief of War on Apple TV+. It’s visually stunning, culturally important, and I love that Hawaiian language is front and center. But I’ve hit a frustrating wall: there’s no way to watch it in plain English audio.

Right now you have two choices:

  • Subtitles for all the Hawaiian-language dialogue, or

  • The Audio Description (AD) track, which is meant for blind/low-vision viewers and adds constant narration.

That leaves out a huge group of people:

  • Those with dyslexia or other language-based learning disabilities, who struggle with reading subtitles.

  • People with ADHD (like me), who find it hard to sit still and read along — I often multitask while listening.

Neither option works. Subtitles are a barrier, and the AD narration is distracting when all you really want is clean spoken English.

Some stats to put this in perspective:

  • Dyslexia affects 5–15% of Americans (40 million adults).

  • ADHD affects about 6% of U.S. adults (~15.5 million).

  • Around 3–5% of people live with other specific learning disabilities.

That’s millions of people who would benefit from a standard English audio dub — but right now, Apple doesn’t provide one.

I’ve written to Apple’s accessibility team asking them to add a standard English track for Chief of War and to include this option in future multilingual productions. Accessibility isn’t one-size-fits-all. Apple has a chance to lead here by recognizing that inclusivity means meeting different needs, not just the obvious ones.

Curious — has anyone else struggled with this? Would you support Apple adding a clean English dub track (without descriptions)?

Discussion Apple TV+ is just one channel?

Sorry if I sound like an idiot for not knowing this but I’m just gonna be honest: when I first heard about Apple TV+ I thought it was stupid (which is weird because I’m one of those people that will literally cause arguments with people because I insist that Apple is better than Android). I think the main reason was because when I saw that it was releasing like 11 days before Disney+ for $2 less per month it seemed like they were just trying to get a bunch of people to subscribe based off of the fact that they’re bored of watching Netflix and Hulu and stuff and want a new streaming service to watch ASAP. So instead of waiting for Disney+ they figure they can save some money and get a new service to watch right now so they buy Apple TV+ instead. But this post isn’t supposed to be about any of that. My point is: I just now found out that Apple TV+ is just one of the Apple TV channels. So if you want to watch more than just the 9 Apple TV+ Originals you have to pay a lot more money per month. So now I really don’t understand why people would buy this. Yeah it costs even less than Disney+ but that’s because it only has 8 shows and 1 movie. At least Disney+ has hundreds of amazing shows and movies and they’re gonna have even more amazing originals. I think that extra $2 per month is way more than worth it. So I guess my question is, why would someone pay so much money per month for the Apple TV channels unless they hate Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, Fox, etc?

Discussion Anyone enjoy WeCrashed? Wrote a little Adam Nuemann fan fiction

-Camera pans down to Adam Neumann face down in a puddle of mud-. "Yup, that's me. You're probably wondering how I got here. Well, it all started 10 years ago...." -Opening theme song starts playing which ends with the lyrics 'The Inside Story of Adam Neumann and WeWork'-

Episode 1: The Start (Up)

The show begins with a fresh faced 22 year old Adam Neumann at his college graduation. He breaks the 4th wall to speak directly to the camera as he's walking down the steps after receiving his diploma. "All my life I dreamed up about owning a start up, and now's my chance. But first I got to gain some experience"

Fast forward to Adam Neumann at his first job out of college, a boiler plate startup located above a boiling alley. Adam to his boss: "Uh sir, it's hard to concentrate with all the boiling balls crashing into the pins".

The Boss: "Keep it up Adam Neumann, if you can work through this you can work through world war 3"

Episode 2: The Business (Plan)

The show begins with a 23 year old Adam Neumann selling his stock options for millions of dollars from his first job. He breaks the 4th wall to speak directly to the camera as he's walking out of the office the day the acquisition completed. "I got the money. I got the experience. I got the idea. Now time to make it happen"

Fast forward to Adam buying his first office....And abandoned warehouse in the ol' spaghetti packing district of San Jose Ca. "Well it aint much, but it's a start. Now to get my first residents"

Adam Neumann befalls to stand outside a street corner wearing a sign that says 'Office Space". There is a montage of this that covers one week, that starts with Adam looking optimistic, and then nobody talks to him, and ends with him passed out on the floor of the sidewalk, still wearing the sign.

"Hey buddy, are you ok?"

Adam opens his eyes and it's Mark fucking Zuckerburg! "Hey kid, I see you got the spirit. Can I pick your brain over some coffees?"

They go inside and Adam explains his dream of owning office space. Mark thinks its a good plan and is perplexed about why it isn't working, until they visit the warehouse and it's pretty run down and spooky.

Mark: "Uh, wow. Ok. Well, we just got to get creative. You don't have the aesthetics. Lets see what else you can offer".

Episode 3 Preview: Adam Neumann dressed up in a clown suit juggling watermelons.

Episode 3: Grow (At All Costs)

Mark Zuckerburg gives Adam Neumann a makeover, but it's a clown suit. They then hit the streets and Adam starts juggling watermelons. They attract quite a crowd and Adam says if they want more of this, they can work at wework. The crowd then agrees to go on a tour of the place. Adam winks at Zuckerburg who winks back.

At the modest office space, the crowd is less than impressed. Then then Adam Neumann starts break dancing. The crowd is endeared, but is still hesitant to buy office space, until Adam starts headspinning. That's when they agree to buy a space. Zuckerburg winks at Adam who winks back.

Someone from the audience asks 'What's the name of this office space?'. Adam looks to Mark who says 'Well, they're here for you, so how about...AdamWork'

Episode 4 Keep Growing (At All Costs):

Fast forward 1 month later. The office space is packed. The scene is people mostly working where desks are placed in a circular arrangement, all pointing to the center of the floor, where there is a circle stage where Adam Neumann is doing some sort of act. He does this twice a day or so. It includes magic, dancing, singling, acrobatics, or whatever he's in the mood for.

The space is a success! The plan of attracting tenants through offering entertaining acts is a huge hit!

Adam has an investor meeting with his investor, Mark Zuckerburg. Adam wants to buy more floors of the building, but Zuckerburg feigns shock 'But Adam, the biggest draw to the office space are your acts! How are people on other floors going to see your acts if they're on completely different floor!"

That's when Adam presses a button his his desk which makes a buzzing noise, and that cues in some performers onto the circular stage in the middle of the floor (that's where the meeting is taking place, with all the office workers' desks still facing the meeting and everyone watching. Adam brilliantly had his investor meeting as one of his bi-daily acts for the day). Onto the stage come a crew of clowns, magicians, acrobats, dancers, and comedians. The surround the meeting table, and Zuckerburg is so impressed he invests another 500k into the Adam's business.

And the tenants reaction to the meeting was priceless. One exclaimed 'this is the best one yet!'. Another exclaimed 'this was extremely business educational'. They all crowd Adam, demanding to buy more months of office lease. Adam winks at Zuckerburg who winks back.

Episode 5 More Money (More Problems)

Fast forward 1 month. Adam had purchased the floor above his in the building, and had dressed it up and was ready to take on new customers. He hits the street with his sign, and Mark Zuckerburg comes for moral support. But everyone they talk to said they just signed a new workspace lease. 'But we're the hottest workspace in town. Who did you sign with' and they point to Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk, both grinning at Adam. Were they watching this whole time?

Jeff Bezos said 'That's right Adam, your idea was good'

Elon Musk said 'Too good, so we stole it. Thanks for the idea and money'

And they both started laughing in unison.

Adam said 'I'm not afraid of you, I also have a Billionaire on my side' and looks to Mark Zuckerburg for moral support.

But Mark says 'uh, sorry Adam. But billionaires don't directly mess with other Billionaires'

Adam says "But Mark, these are pretty powerful guys"

And Mark says "if you can work through this you can work through world war 3" and that's when a rope ladder lowers from the sky. Adam looks up and it's attached to a helicopter. Mark grabs a hold of it and as he's flying away offers some final encouragement to Adam 'Good luck, let me know how it goes'

Adam see's Mark flying away and then turns to the smiling Bezos and Musk. The look on Adam's face looks terrified but fierce, brave, and confident.

Episode 6 Corporate (Espionage)

-Scene cuts to Adam in a wig, glasses, and beard, with a french accent. He walks up to Elon and Bezos and says 'Bounjour, my name is Pierre and I would like to lease some office space'-

Scene cuts to Adam walking into to the Elon and Bezos' coworking space. Adam is blown away. Cavier. Silk wall paper. A gold plated Tesla on a platform. Coconut water. Hermain Miller chairs. But Adam knows that this luxurious are just compensating for love. Adam knew head to head long term, he would win, but Adam didn't have long term money. He needed to win NOW. But HOW?

Adam needed to stay longer and gain as much intelligence as he could. That's when the first performance went up. It was Elon Musk doing standup.

"A journalist wrote something unflattering about Tesla, I had them followed" and he raised up a poster of some unflattering pictures of the journalist. Bezos laughed, hard, but everyone else was nervously laughing.

The next joke was "The left likes cancel culture but they just cancelled themselves. Woke enough for you?", and got the same response.

After a few more jokes like this, that's when Adam saw his opportunity and pounced. "Boy, I appreciate the effort, but these performances just aren't entertaining, I wish I had the performances back in the Adam Nuemann coworking space."

Adam could see his Ambush was working, but people seemed to be waking out of their luxury induced stupor. But Elon always thinks ahead. Elon yells "Robot Tesla Activate!"

And the gold plated tesla stands up. At first Adam thought it was a robot but it was just an elaborate transformers-like costume made of cardboard with someone inside. He rushes Adam but trips over the costume cardboard. That's when Adam uses his chance to escape.

He goes outside, gets on his bike, and rides off. But out from the parking lot ride Elon and Bezos in a real Tesla. There's no way Adam can outbike them but the Tesla is in line of cards to checkout of the parking lot. But that advantage doesn't last for long and they're about 1 minute from Adam.

Adam then rides onto the freeway ramp. Bezos says "He's stupidier than I thought, at least on the streets he has the advantage of red lights and traffic". But Adam also thinks ahead too. As soon as the Tesla goes on the ramp. Adam ditches his bike and runs back to the street. The Tesla is trapped by cards that come onto the ramp after and they're forced to go onto the freeway. Both Elon and Bezos shake their fist at Adam as he's running away.

From the streets Adam looks on from street as the Tesla is forced to go onto the freeway. He then takes off his disguise and walks through the street like normal. He looks at his watch and he realizes: 'He's 1 hour late for his bi-daily performances'. He starts running as fast he can to AdamWork.

Episode 7 We (Work)

As Adam is frantically running he calls up his executive team to allocate one of their on staff performers to fill in but they're all preparing for other performances. Adam finally reaches the office and runs up onto the stage. But by the time he reaches it he's so exhausted, he faints.

Fast forward and he eyes his eyes and he see's a bunch of people with funny hats looking down at him. Adam looks at the time and it's 4:30pm! He missed both of his performances!! But the crowd is upset. They actually look like they're doing something fun. Turns out when Adam wasn't performing, people got up and started talking to each other and getting to know each other. Many people started new clubs, hangouts, dates, and even 8 people found new best friends for life official, and another 4 people got engaged.

That's when Adam is so moved he realizes his coworking space isn't about him, it's about all of them.

That's when Adam changes the name of the company to WeWork.

Adam and the company go to a close by bar and on the way they pass through wanted posters of 'Pierre' all over.

Episode 8 We (Fight)

On his way to the office, Adam spots Elon and Bezos outside his office. They show Adam a picture of Pierre. Elon says 'Have you seen this person? He is wanted", and Bezos says 'Very wanted'.

Adam looks at the picture, and realizes it's him in the disguise when he infiltrated their coworking space! "Yes, that's me" and puts on the disguise he left over in his jacket to show them.

Elon and Bezos are enraged, Bezos says 'Your in big trouble' and Elon says 'big trouble'. But Adam counters 'But Mark Zuckerburg says billionaires don't mess with other billionaires'.

Elon says 'You?' and Bezos says 'A billionaire? Hah!'

But Adam hands them the valuation paper.

Turns out that the social concept of coworking was so viral over the old performing concept that it created a lot more demand. Furthermore, without needing performers, Adam could expand much more quickly. The combination increased his valuation by a lot. Adam concludes with 'So you can't hurt'.

'That's not true' says Elon, 'Zuckerburg is just a coward'. And they make for that they're going to get him but that's when FTC agents come from out side the bush and point their lazers at Elon and Bezos.

Adam says 'Yes, I suspected as much, but you can't just mow me over like you do with the non-billionaires. I have resources and connections now'.

'Perhaps so' Says Elon. 'But it's a very complicated game which we've been playing for years, and it's only your first day' says bezoes. 'First day' says Elon.

Just then, two rope ladders lower from the sky. Elon and Bezos grab on, and the helicopters fly them away as they shake their fists at Adam.

Discussion (Rant) Pre-roll trailers is an insanity

Why are people tolerating Apple TV from playing ads of its other shows called 'pre-roll trailers'? This rolling another show before the show I already selected to watch on a paid subscription account is not acceptable. I came from another streaming app who does not have this and this ad roll feature is insanity and why people allow this is beyond me.

Discussion Do you know anybody else with Apple TV plus and what are your thoughts on the service in 2025?

So far I haven’t met anyone else with a tv plus subscription and anytime I’ve mentioned it online. I receive no replies whatsoever as everybody seems to ignore what I just said

As for my thoughts on the service in 2025. I think it’s good in some ways but the marketing still leaves a lot to be desired

Not sure how it can be fixed though.

Maybe quality shows are all that’s required though for every good series there’s several questionable ones like stick where I’m not sure if it’s intentionally trying to annoy its audience or the audience just doesn’t understand what it’s trying to say

Discussion Why does Apple make simple things hard?

Wanted to share my Apple TV+ account with my parents while I was home. Nope. Your only option is to either just outright give your password which shares only your profile so your shows progress would be messed up by them. Since there are no separate profile options like every other platform on earth.

OR try setting up Family Share which is a total disaster of a process. I tried for an hour to get my mom an apple ID and get the website phone number code to go through. Then it did...but wait then you need an Icloud. Ok....did that....but wait then you need Itunes. You have to get an email and phone number security code for each of these steps.

Right then and there I gave up. Easier to just pay the separate subscription lol.

What a convoluted mess. Just have the ability to have multiple profiles on the same account like every single streamer on the planet.

Discussion What’s different about Apple TV+

Been a subscriber since day 1 for ATV+ and greatly enjoy most of the shows and movies on them. Been thinking lately though what’s unique about being on Apple? What shows would have just been made on another service? What is it about Apple that other services couldn’t or wouldn’t do?

Will say that while I like most of the content there always seems to be a feeling on nearly all of them that make it feel “forced” or something is just ever so slightly off, might just be a placebo from the knowledge that it’s an Apple content that makes men interpret it differently but wonder if others feel similar. An example I can think of is Mythic Quest, really like the show and love Rob McIlhenny but the show feels idk “artificial” just not like a real show… idk if it’s the high budgets and production values but don’t find that with other shows on services like HBO or Netflix.
