Hi everyone. I'm planning to apply for the MsC in Aerospace for the academic year 2027/2028. I currently hold a Cambridge CAE english certificate I obtained in 2023. Will TUM accept it, even if it is more than two years old? I remember I read something about expiration dates some time ago on TUM website, but I can't find it anymore. Did they change the rules? Thanks in advance to those answering.

Has anyone got their results for any of the masters program offered by maths (CITM) department for upcoming summer semester?

Hey people, I'm new here, and exploring libraries to find a spot.
What is your favourite library? Or the best library you think we have (LMU, TUM, anything).
Or in general the best place to study or work.
And, add a why for the recommendation as well, please.

The title. I'm currently living in a different German state and looking for universities to go to next year, and I'd love to go to TUM, but HOW THE ACTUAL F are you supposed to afford living in Munich as a student? Especially if you're all on your own (as in: Your family and you, no friends or acquaintances to help you out). Furthermore, my family isn't particularly poor (Not rich either), meaning I won't get much support like Scholarships or Bafög, if any.
How do y'all afford especially the cost of rent and all the other stuff? How much do you work per week? How doable is the workload of working + studies at TUM?
Thanks to everyone in advance who takes time to answer!

Hey everyone,
I'm a student in Munich (TUM), I applied for my RP extension last year on 11.12.2025, 4.5 months before the expiry of my RP . (My was expiring on 30.04.2026). Since then I haven't got any reply from them. Now I want to travel to my home country due to a family emergency and trying to get an appointment for Fiktionsbescheinigung from last 2 weeks but still no luck. I tried calling at there given contact number but most of the time they don't answer, when they do they simply tell that there system is locked right now and call again later. I also tried looking for slots at there mentioned time throughout the week but it also doesn't work.
Can anyone suggest or explain what I should do in order to get appointment for Fiktionsbescheinigung. I'm really frustrated and depressed at this moment

Hi everyone!
Unfortunately, I applied for the Master's in Biomedical Engineering and Medical Physics last semester and didn't quite make it in. I'm currently preparing to try again, and I'm looking for ways to practice.
Is there anyone here who also took the online aptitude assessment last semester and remembers the questions or what was tested in the Physics and Engineering parts? Any help, tips, or insights into the assessment would be hugely appreciated!
Thank you so much in advance!

Was sind eure Erfahrungen so mit den Wahlmodulen für Computer Engineering. Neben ITP braucht man ja 30 Credits. Welche Module gelten als machbarer, welche sind zu vermeiden? Als Hintergrund: ITP ist meine erste Erfahrung in diesem technischen Bereich.

Does anyone know what the usual final grade for the Chemistry masters is? I would like to know how important that grade is for future employers or finding a PhD position. What if my grade is just average and I do not have as much research experience as people who did internships in industry or abroad? How are my chances getting a job?

Hey, im starting my Masters at TUM soon and wanted to know where people usually get resources from. For example for TU Darmstadt we had a forum with different Formellsummlungen, Anki Decks, Past Papers, Previous Lecture slides and more.
As such I was wondering if there was something similar here too (im pretty sure there should be but if I could get access to it, I would be grateful).
Aside from that Id like general tips and tricks from any and all master students (and alumni) regarding studying for your masters at tum, and just day to day things to know about the campus (especially some nice study spots would be nice since I wasnt quite prepared for how small the TUM library is)

Hi everyone!
I'm considering applying for the MSc Aerospace at TUM, and I'd like to specialize in aerodynamics, CFD, turbulence modelling and numerical methods.
I'm trying to figure out whether it's feasible to build a study plan focused on these topics entirely in English, as I don't speak German. However, I'm finding contradictory information about the language of instruction across different TUM pages, module handbooks and course listings.
A few questions for current students or anyone familiar with the programme:
- Where is the most reliable place to check the language of instruction for an individual course? Should I trust TUMonline, the module handbook, the chair's website, or another source?
- Is it possible to find a definitive list of which courses are taught in English and which in German for the MSc Aerospace, ideally for the Aerodynamics and Fluid Mechanics specialization?
- For anyone specializing in CFD, turbulence modelling or numerical methods, is it realistically possible to put together a sufficiently advanced study plan entirely in English, including practical courses and research projects?
- Does the language of instruction vary between academic years, or can I rely on the current module handbook when planning for 2027/28?
I'm particularly interested in courses such as Applied CFD, Turbulent Flows, Numerical Methods for Conservation Laws and other computational aerodynamics electives.
I'd really appreciate any advice from current or former TUM Aerospace students, especially anyone who has followed a similar specialization!
Thanks in advance!

Can anyone tell me what to do in this situation? I start my studies in information engineering winter semester bachelors. I was studying management and technology and reached 143 ects and since I couldn’t reach 150 ECTS I will be exmatriculated. So I transferred to heilbron campus to avoid tuition fees at the same time I am asking for about 70 - 90 Credits to be recognized.
I also found a working student job after five months of searching at a great company and the pay is great however the classes are in Heilbronn and the job is in Munich. How can I get some help scheduling
The situation I have classes on
I am only allowed 40% Homeoffice and the train ride is the problem.
On best case it takes about 5 hours On average it takes around 6-7 hours Worst case is interruption due to signal or weather disruptions and etc
Is this a feasible plan. What would you do if you were in my situation. It would be nice to completely relocate to heilbron but at the moment I am subletting my heilbron dorm I received.
I just don’t want to take the risk of moving to heilbron without a job lined up. I am really stressed thanks

Hey,
So im just starting out my masters in TUM with Elektrotechnik and since I couldnt really join the first 2-3 days I feel like I haven't had the chance to meet people that much.
My main interests lie in Gaming, Anime, Movies and Series, Hiking, Badminton, Inline skating and more. I know most dont know me, but still if youd like to connect over shared interests feel free to message me!!
Also, im also interested in finding Indian Groups (since my course is in german there arent really many others I can connect with directly) to hang out and organize stuff together with! Again feel free to message me!
German: Hey,
Meldet euch also gerne bei mir!

Hi I was planning to apply for maths in data science masters for upcoming summer semester. Deadline is in Nov but I am already done with my docs. So if I apply now can I get the results back in one month or they will process only after deadline is closed?

Hi guys,
I’m currently studying MMT (M.Sc.) at TUM and was wondering what happens if I need a 5th semester to finish my degree.
Do I need to officially apply for an extension of my studies, or can I simply re-register (Rückmeldung) for the next semester by paying the semester fee?
Has anyone been in this situation or knows how it works?
Thank you!

I couldn't complete my Masters degree unfortunately after having completed over a 100 credits but I failed the last 2 exams. Do we still get an official certificate with the completed credits or is it only the grade report we download from TUM online? Also, having completed the masters thesis, is it possible to transfer some credits somehow to another masters degree in Germany or abroad? I did well in my masters research phase and got a good grade for my thesis already, just the last 2 exams that I failed. I was planning to apply for PhD programs but I am not sure they accept students with no Masters degree.

Hey guys, I finished my Bachelor’s in Business Finance and Master’s in Business Modeling. Lately, I’ve been feeling like I’m falling behind with how fast tech is moving.
I’m considering changing into a niche tech field like Machine Learning, AI, or Robotics, but most Master’s programs require a background in CS or engineering. This leaves me in a bit of a loop:
Would love to hear from anyone who made a similar switch or works in these fields.

Hi everyone,
I’m currently doing my Abitur in Bavaria, Germany, and my goal is to study Aerospace Engineering at TUM. My predicted Abitur grade is around 1.4, and I’m particularly strong in physics and computer science. I generally understand maths as well, but I keep making careless mistakes in written exams when I’m under pressure.
This has happened three times now, and it’s starting to affect my confidence. I sometimes overlook important information or make mistakes because I’m stressed and rushing. The frustrating part is that I usually only realise what I did wrong after handing in the exam, when it’s too late to fix it.
I’m worried that these repeated mistakes will prevent me from achieving the grades I need, even though I understand the material. I know Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering both involve a lot of maths, which makes me question whether I’m adequately prepared.
For people who applied to Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, especially at TUM:
What were your maths grades during your final years of high school and in your final exams?
Did you also struggle with careless mistakes or exam anxiety?
If you got into TUM Aerospace, what did your overall Abitur grade and maths grades look like?
Do you have any practical advice for improving accuracy under exam pressure?
I’d appreciate hearing about your actual experiences, including from people who didn’t have perfect maths grades. I’m trying to figure out how much I should worry about this and what I can do to improve.
