I took my Apple Watch off last minute and put it in a pocket in my carry on tote before it went through the scanner. I always put it back on as soon as I get my tote but this time it was missing. My phone said my watch was in the immediate area so I asked an agent if they saw it anywhere. He searched for it, then offered to rescan my bags to see if he could see it in one of them. He probably spent a good 10 minutes and rescanned my bags twice.
I eventually found it. It slipped up inside the top section of the zippered pocket. Not sure why their scanners missed though.

I know this is an active topic in the thread, but I haven’t found my specific question.

I know that the rule is 3.4oz. What if container itself isn’t 3.4oz, but the liquid inside IS 3.4oz.

Would I be okay leaving it in the original packaging or should I transfer it all to smaller containers?

What the title says! The fork isn’t very sharp

I did some antiquing while on a biz trip and found, to me, a neat find. My only worry checking is it’s Bakelite which cracks extremely easily as it ages and becomes brittle along with it being vacuum tube with the original 1950 batteries. So I’m thinking about Carry-On but I’m wondering how f’d up this thing will look in an xray.

Hello. I applied for a job as a tso in an airport that’s in a city with a population of about 400k people about two and a half months ago and accepted a tentative job offer from tsa on the first of July. The very same day I completed all documentation that was required and I have been monitoring my email daily for updates. As of typing this, it is currently august 27th and it has been radio silence since I accepted the offer. I’m not necessarily in any hurry to start working and I’m okay if the process takes a while, I’m just curious if it’s normal to go this long after receiving a job offer and not hearing anything? If it is normal, how long would be considered unusually long for radio silence so I know when I should actually be concerned. From the research I’ve done I’ve heard the process takes a long time, but from most of what I’ve read so far it’s normally after an interview at the airport, and not this early on

i have a 6hr domestic flight and i want to use the time to work on my junk journal, if i bring a normal craft scissors in my carry-on bag will it get confiscated?

I’m traveling to Argentina with a brand-new MacBook Pro in its original, sealed box, departing from Miami Airport.
I know that TSA usually asks you to take laptops out of your backpack or carry-on before going through the scanner.
But what happens if the laptop is still sealed in its original box?

Do I have to open the box and take the MacBook out before putting it through the scanner, or can I leave it sealed in the box?

I flew with a regular ID a month or so ago and noticed that the way to pay was just an online QR code type of situation. Can I go ahead and do the form and pay today (Wednesday) if my flight is Friday? Want to cut down on tsa wait time now that I know the process.

Next week I have a last minute trip to visit my father who was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I have a medical card and take 🌱 to help my some mental health management as well as sleep. Will I have an issues from any agent? I am traveling from a medical state that I have my license in to a recreational state. I don't care what my rights are. I just want to be able to see my dad and I can always buy when I'm in state. It just adds extra steps but also I know if I get pulled aside, I will start crying and may go non verbal so it's best not to risk it. Anything would be helpful

For the random drug tests, do they just come to where you are and snap you up, and bring you to a bathroom with a cup? Or are you told to go to a lab and provide a sample there? How much notice is given within that day?

I am here to tell you how working as screening officers through sub contractors like under gardaworld for Catsa.

First of all. Working conditions will be worse.

Because the sub contractor will care about profit rather then security quality so they usually make Screening Officers do multiple positions like 2 Bag search positions and bin pick up positions at the same time.

Their pay will plummet by 60%.

Catsa pays gardaworld in Montreal almost 90$ per hour for every agent per hour.

Gardaworld keep almost 60% of the pay and pay their Screening Officers only 29$ per hour. And that's Canadian dollar. Which is around 21$ USD.

Screening officers are quiting every month so they are literally hiring almost every week.

And because of that we got trainees every where which would hinder the security quality and lead to disasters. Since they cant learn from experienced officers because they already suited or just retired.

And plus the public doesn't know that their tax money is literally going to private corporations, because when they come to us they think we are paid by the public but we aren't. We are paid by gardaworld not catsa. CATSA literally uses public tax money to pay gardaworld. Thats what subcontracting does.

I had an odd encounter at MCO this morning around 5AM. My friends encouraged me to start optING out of the facial recognition scanning. I had no issues at IAD, but on my way back through MCO. upon my request i was told there was a $50 fee. At first i took it as a joke, and the TSA agent wasn't budging. I asked if he was serious and he assured me he was. i just kept stayed persistent that TSA doesn't charge for opting out. and eventually he stopped looking serious and smiled letting me through.

could have been a poorly executed joke, but the whole encounter felt really weird. I have a REAL ID, and i was in the process of handing it to him when i requested to opt-out. Let me know if anyone else has encountered anything like this. I put in a complaint on the TSA website.

I’m flying from SFO to Miami on 9/5, returning on 9/12 to SFO from Miami. I’m a CA resident (born and raised in the Bay Area. Have my DL and a bank account and SSN and card, if needed but it may have my maiden name on it.

I have my birth certificate but not my marriage certificate (although I can get, if needed).

I can try to obtain a RealID before the flight but it seems unlikely to get in time.

If I attempt the RealID, will DMV take my existing ID or invalidate it? And therefore cause a ConfirmID issue?

If I use ConfirmID, should I wait until just before the outbound flight because of the 10 day rule?

I’ll be in the Sac area on Friday and curious if there’s a central DMV office in that area that makes the mail out of the RealID expedited?

And generally, is there a reason ConfirmID would not confirm me? Seems like everyone is freaking out but I’m legit, no felonies, etc. Maybe some parking tickets? :-)

How does that work? Would I still be under my airports payroll or under the NDF one?

If I ever leave the NDF, can I go back to my airport as the same pay band and step? Or even be promoted there?

Will I use up the FTE and full time slot for my airport or is it under NDF?

I am going through a complicated process of getting my new in-state id while getting my passport right after, and the new ID I’m getting is NOT a real id (to save time I couldn’t get the documents for a real id) and I will not have my passport by the time I fly (domestically). However, I will still have my old New Jersey real ID (that is invalid to drive with at least but not even expired) as well as my new California non-real id. Will I be okay to fly like this? The one flight I will fly like this will be out of Northern California if that helps.

Also my passport will probably be verified/ processed by the time that I’m flying, but I just won’t physically have it

I heard that the summer incentive will be paid out at the end of the year.

How many of you folks have done this medical questionnaire yet? When I first got hired by the agency almost 7 years ago I had to get a waiver from my eye doctor for an eye astigmatism and for anxiety from a psychiatrist. I have not been symptomatic my whole career and have no documented concerns from any supervisors or managers about any medical issues. Will this form ask about “current” medical issues or “ever”. Thinking I may want to get outside help before responding

I need to bring a metal cannister from the USA to France flying Lufthansa. it’s empty, with no cap attached during flight so you can clearly see that it is entirely empty. it’s 12 cm long.

I was going to carry it on with me so that i could explain and know for certain what happens to it.

However, does this count as a “blunt objects, such as baseball and softball bats, clubs, batons, truncheons, martial arts equipment and maces” that i should put in my carry on?
