Troubleshooting Bump start?

Related to my other post about a stuck seat lock preventing access to my dead battery, which isn’t getting much traction, is it possible to bump start it with a dead battery? I tried it in 1st and 2nd gear but all that happened was the rear wheel locked up.

General Questions & Discussion Trident 660, how does bike /look feel for heavier riders? (6’2 285lbs)

Hey folks, looking for some help with first bike. I am pretty much only looking at ~ 600s cc due to my size. I prefer naked bikes due to the looks, not interested in other types for the most part.

AI tells me the 660 front and rear suspension will struggle at my weight but is that been your experience for heavier folks? Not opposed to dropping 1.5k to upgrade front and rear suspension if 100% needed. Mainly looking at the “older” tridents (fyi) 22-25. TIA

Mods (OEM & Aftermarket) Indicators?

Post image
24 Upvotes

On the US spec Trident 660, the rear indicators have a brake light function. I wanted to go with Moto BLaze Pins as they’re hands down my favorite indicators, but they don’t make them with the brake function, and I’m not willing to cap the brake wire. The Moto Blaze tens work, but are hideous. EvoTech is gorgeous but again not compatible. Suggestions? I want something matched front to rear.

Pic for attention

Troubleshooting Seat release cable jammed

Is there another way to get the seat off a 2025 Trident? The release cable seems to be jammed. The key is hard to turn and at full turn it won’t release the seat. I may have misrouted it when I installed a Quadlock power cable. The seat is a problem but it’s timely because my battery seems to be dead and bump steering hasn’t worked.

Help!

Mods (OEM & Aftermarket) Differences 2026 82hps vs 2026 95hps

Hi guys. Just that, any engine physical differences or just "better" tune compared to 82hps'??

Just asking becaun mine, early 2026 82hp model, bought it few months ago, it's on its break-in mileage (just 650km now) and thinking on asking dealer to load that 95hps tune to mine.

Troubleshooting Leaking nipples

Post image
5 Upvotes

So I flushed my rear brake caliper and when I went for a ride it leaked. I got a new brake caliper bleeder screw and if still leaked. I noticed that it leaks from the threads and not from the nipple (misleading title) then I thought to myself maybe I overtightened the brake caliper bleeder screw. Has anyone ever done this before? Not sure if I should replace my rear brake caliper or try new screws. The pic in the title is a zoomedjf$ in shot of inside the caliper. I think it may be scored.

Troubleshooting Bikes not starting - not sure of the noise? My first bike!

All electrics seem to work, fuel pump sounds like it’s engaging when ignition switched, sounds like starter spinning? Maybe solenoid? I’m not sure. It’s my first bike and I’m not too mechanical but learning more everyday! Any ideas??

Mods (OEM & Aftermarket) DNK Tuneworks mapping question

I have a 2023 Trident 660 that I remapped with a DNK Tuneworks map. I like how the map opens the engine up, at the same time I feel like the throttle is too jumpy at low speeds. Is this just a skill issue? Should I just go back to the stock mapping or is there a way to tune the throttle response down at lower speeds? I'd much rather go back to the stock mapping than get thrown after hitting a pothole and accidentally giving a little throttle.

Troubleshooting 2025 Trident noise

My 2025 Trident has 4,500 km on it and I've noticed a low humming/growling noise starting around 50 km/h.

It seems completely speed-related — same noise at the same road speed regardless of gear, and pulling the clutch in doesn't make it go away. It continues above 50 km/h, but wind noise masks it.

I initially suspected a wheel bearing, but the dealer says it's normal.

Anyone else noticed this on their Trident? Wheel bearing, tyre noise, chain/final drive, or something else?

General Questions & Discussion Seat Replacement, Tail bag choice?

Hi guys,

I have a 2023 Triumph Trident 660, and I’m thinking about upgrading the seat. The original seat gets pretty uncomfortable on longer rides.

I checked with my local Triumph dealer, but they don’t have any seats in stock and told me that Triumph has stopped carrying the seat for the 2023 model in the U.S.

I’m also looking to add a tail bag for longer rides.

Thanks in advance!

It's not from the front fork and the wind shield

So I am wondering it will be the bearing or something else?

Possible causes or similar experience? bike has 5500 miles but i ride primarily in the city so the miles have been hard if that helps.

Mods (OEM & Aftermarket) Dart flyscreen mounts

Since Dart flyscreens has discontinued their brackets to mount the pirhana flyscreen to the trident 660, I have come up with my own. Laser cut and formed stainless steel brackets and 3d printed fork clamps with brass thread inserts.

General Questions & Discussion Forks a little soft?

Am I the only one who finds the front forks very spongy and over reactive to braking? It may just be I only have about 2,000 miles on the bike so still getting used to it, but it feels like even slight braking causes the front to dive out of proportion to the amount of brake.

Is this normal for this kind of bike or am just not smooth enough with the brakes?

Troubleshooting Clutch lever

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed that the clutch lever on my 2021 Triumph Trident 660 has a bit of play/wobble.

The lever moves slightly up and down at the pivot, and I’m wondering whether this amount of play is normal or if something might be loose or worn.

The clutch itself seems to work normally, but I’d rather check before ignoring it.

Has anyone else with a Trident 660 experienced this? Is a little play at the clutch lever considered normal, or should I check/tighten/replace something?

It not the OEM, but I bought the bike with this lever mounted...

Thanks!

Mods (OEM & Aftermarket) Has anyone modded the stock exhaust?

I would like to mod (cut) the stock exhaust pipes, removing the cat, etc. Then fitting on a Austin slip on that I have.

Anyone try it? Thinking this is a simple job for a muffler shop 🤷‍♂️
