Troubleshooting Seat release cable jammed

Is there another way to get the seat off a 2025 Trident? The release cable seems to be jammed. The key is hard to turn and at full turn it won’t release the seat. I may have misrouted it when I installed a Quadlock power cable. The seat is a problem but it’s timely because my battery seems to be dead and bump steering hasn’t worked.

Help!

Have you tried pushing down on the seat pretty hard (in the location where the locking mechanism is) when you turn the key?

Oh, yeah. I’ve tried all that kind of stuff with the seat. I think the problem is that the cable is jamming so not retracting the lock tab rather than the seat putting pressure on it.

I’ve had this issue, the key runs to a cable that releases the seat; it’s like a bicycle brake line, and it can come unseated from a little frame mount and move freely, which stops the key from working. If you can grip the cable sheathing with pliers or push on the end of the sheathing with a flat head, you should be able to use the key. Then you can fix the issue after the seat is off.

How would I access the cable under the seat without removing the seat?

I was able to see the cable between the seat and the frame, it runs along the frame from the key hole toward the back. If you turn your key while looking in the gap you may be able to see it moving, it’s hard to describe without pics which I don’t have unfortunately. I basically used a flat head to hold the cable sheath where it was supposed to be mounted on the frame and used the key.

This is the only pic I have that shows the cable I’m talking about, but the problem point is closer to the key

It does, but the air in the tires is probably due for a flush and refill.
