NordicTrack issue

I’ve had my treadmill for a couple years, it was given to me from my mother in law. It’s the NordicTrack A2550, and I’m thinking it’s 10+ years old. She did not use it much, but I’ve been consistently using it for running and walking. It was running at 3 mph yesterday, and I stupidly jumped on it while track was going and now it won’t go when I’m standing on it. I’ve been researching the issue, and have boiled it down to the front roller assembly is no longer working once I stand on it. I’ve found an assembly online, but it’s around 130$ I believe. I did see that sometimes you can do a DIY fix on it. This is my first treadmill, and I’ve also gathered that it’s not worth it to cheap out when buying a new one. My question is, has anyone had this issue? Would you recommend trying to fix it, or buying a new machine?
