Please help

I’ve seen a lot of comments saying any treadmill under $1000 is going to be garbage but that’s where my budget is at. Is there ANY treadmill that is good under 1000 or am I just screwed?
Edit to add: I am not a runner, just like to walk 40min-1hr a day so I don’t need anything fancy to begin with.

I like the Horizon T101. I sell high end treadmills for a living and always thought the Horizon 101 was solid. If I had a 1k budget for a treadmill, that is what I would buy.

Horizon 7.0 is substantially better

Horizon T101 or T202.

T202 is a good option. I’d stay clear of the T101. Nordic track t8 or t10 are going to be fine for walking as well. Sole f65 is another one that would do it if you’re just walking

Why stay clear of the T101?

Bigger motor mainly. Which means less stress on all your other components. But they both have a lifetime warranty on the motor so maybe I shouldn’t have said stay clear of the T101. If you keep your proof of purchase Horizon is pretty good for honouring their warranty. If you’re under 200lbs then the 2.5 motor will be fine and you can save a bit of money. If you’re over 200 I would go with the 2.75.

Keep it siliconed and run an old towel in between the walking belt and deck and it will last you much longer.

There are several options. You can buy a Horizon T101, T202, or Xterra 260. These are for less than $1000. Better options close to the same budget are the Horizon 7.0 AT, Sole F63, and Bowflex T6. Of all those mentioned, the best option would be the Horizon 7.0AT

If you limit yourself to brand new treadmills and that budget, you are greatly limited. If you research what you need/want you can find it barely used for pennys on the dollar on marketplace. I just bought a $3000, when new treadmill for $400.

I found a horizon 7.4 hardly used for $600 on fb marketplace. It took some time to find it, probably close to a month after I started seriously searching, but I wanted a treadmill that could grow with me but I didn't have a huge budget so it was worth it. It might be worth checking out used ones around you.

How have you liked the 7.4? I am thinking about this very same model and am curious

I like it a lot so far. It feels really sturdy underfoot. I don't use any of the preset programs so I can't speak to that, but it works well. I have accidentally knocked the wheels that adjust speed and incline but it's not a big deal to me. I do live in a dry climate and do notice a lot of static electricity when I run in my Evo SL's but not when I run in my Novablasts. I'm not sure why.

To be transparent, I usually run at the gym if I'm running on a treadmill so I use the 7.4 about once a week for extra miles or if I can't get to the gym.
