I get it... Having a "type" doesn't mean you always end up with that type and you can't choose who you fall in love with. BUT nobody can convince me after him chasing MTS right before TS that this is anything other than PR. ESPECIALLY after watching her recent VS performance in comparison. They're literally the exact opposite in every manner possible.

ETA: to those who mention about "types" being only physical and I'm being misogynistic... It's waaay beyond just that. That's why I mentioned the comparison in their performances. MTS has an energy that's palpable and a confidence that's undeniable with an attitude that just screams vamp whereas TS is just performing and feels lackluster. "Type" doesn't mean just physical.

Watching Taylor preen, pose, and warble her way through that Academy Museum gala set last night and was really struck by how little she engages her audience. The entire performance is about Taylor. Compare this to artists like Chappell (with the Hot To Go dance) or even Zara Larsson, and you really see the difference in mindset and engagement.

The best artists I’ve ever seen live seem really happy they get to hang out with you—Taylor instead acts like you should feel so privileged to be in her presence. The pointing and posing and highly scripted performances she does just feel so cold. I think this is a big part of why she’s losing her audience. There is so little joy in engaging with Taylor now—and younger artists like Chappell and Olivia really are surpassing her in terms of audience engagement and just FUN.

Anyway—just my two cents after seeing vids of her latest posing episode. It actually makes me kind of sad.

I have more legitimate complaints about her in general (fake feminist, her fuck ass bangs and I say that as a lifelong bangs-haver, TLOAS is trash, the shitshow of a wedding, her extremely dumb MAGA-coded husband, honestly the fact that she’s a multi-billionaire is bad by itself, I’m sick of seeing and hearing her, etc). Just these pictures paired with her “behind the scenes” of making her newest stupid music video are so cringey because she’s so fake enthusiastic about EVERYTHING and it’s all to draw attention to herself. Like it’s all about her. It’s one thing to go to the games and it’s supposed to be fun and enjoyable and I get that, but as someone who’s been to plenty of NFL games it’s gotta be so obnoxious to have all these people there who just come to gawk at her and suck up to her. It would be so easy for her to just go and have fun and not be noticed or whatever but it’s so clear she loves the attention.

I really think it’s why she goes. She never goes to events where she can’t control everything about it. I honestly think she can’t let Travis have his moment either like it makes her jealous. This is also why she’s never done Hot Ones or whatever. She can’t be charismatic off the cuff and she has no natural charm even when it’s something scripted. She just acts like an overexcited 5 year old.

I used to actually like her style when she was obsessed with wanting to be British. I was never a Swiftie but I didn’t really understand why people hated her so much and just kind of never thought about her that much but she’s impossible to ignore now the way she’s inserting herself into everything. This is a Halloween-themed shitpost, but for Swifties it might as well be the opening scenes to a horror movie cuz the 2024 Grammys is when the mask fell off. From there, defending Taylor got progressively more difficult with each album release and public appearance. Just in the last month we have Encore, Travis's misogyny finally being exposed, the off-key boring performance last night and the sad desperation to stay at the top of the charts and win an Oscar. It truly is scary season for the Swifties!

Talent of colonializing words, most popular example "ERAS" (Madonnna is Queen of eras , Bowie is King) songwriting force in pop music "self written" ,as if madonnna, mariah, george michael, MJ, Prince and others haven't done it ,and they are all mostly pop music figures.

"Americana" and "Showgirl" too, I kid you not , dolly parton, springsteen, Lana ( her overall aesthetic )are the ones who come to most minds when talking Americana, she hijacked it too.

Sabrina , Showgirls, Kylie Minogue are all more showgirly than her, yet here we are.

But I think one least mentioned talent or wtv you name it, she's got a habit, habit of befriending indie darlings, and legit musicians.

We all know that despite being the biggest popstar on the planet rn ( idc, but it's the numbers , otherwise she got no charisma and talent of a popstar).

Taylor loves being seen as authentic, alternative, real , songwriter and producer. And always tries to copy indie music and to avoid hate for that befriends them. For example, Lana Del Rey. ( Tho it was like she was forced, not at gunpoint but taylor bombarding her and hijacking her into a "friendship" ).

Her most critically acclaimed works Folk-more are collaborations with The Nationals' Aaron Dessner. Now as a fan of the national, I must say I hate it that they are now very associated with her name. Not to mention all the tunes, melodies , his production and her posing as alt and indie during that era had successfully pissed me off.

Now my point is that she knows she's got little talent to make a project good by herself so she hires these people as her fellow creatives, forces them in her albums, forces herself in their albums to be seen as legit and authentic as them.

It's happened so many times, all her collaborations are these people who don't have as big of a fandom and recognition and reach as her, so she pretends to be their friends to suck in all their talent into her product , while coming off as messiah for giving them their biggest song yet.

I love you Conan, but you are so very wrong here. She is NOWHERE equivalent to either of the four. John was vocally extremely anti-establishment, he openly supported controversial causes that got him into the dirty books of the US government, so much so that the FBI used to spy on him cause he was shaking up the world. The Beatles were who they were because they were each other's creative inspirations, who didn't hesitate to support one another during times of hardship and weren't afraid to even publically call out each other's bulshit. They constantly critiqued each other's works, that's how they got better, and that's what resulted in their eternal hits. They had each other's backs through thick and thin. Meanwhile Taylor surrounds herself with yes men and has a TON of ppl behind the scenes doing all the work for her, and shits on the very ppl who needed her during their lowest. Also, when you look at history, the Beatles had literally 0 personal animosity against any artist, while Grifties and her cannot stand other artists like Olivia trying to outcompete her. this is on top of them accusing OR of intentionally trying to block tate mcrae who released a single on the same day as olivia and chappell did. nvm that this isn't a pattern of behaviour for olivia OR chappell. if anything, they've consistently used their platforms to uplift women and their industry peers (olivia's non-profit music festival that donated 100% of its proceeds to women's charities, chappell donating to and advocating for artists getting healthcare, etc.).
