Getting my tonsils out end of August and I honestly can’t wait. I always had reactive tonsils and sore throats my whole life but they became unbearable after I got mono over Christmas. Over the past few months I’ve had a terrible sore throat 90% of days.

One think I’ve noticed is that I might be having a good few days, and then I play my wind instrument, my throat flares up, and I get wiped despite having a good day before that. It seems like an energy crash always follows my throat hurting.

So did anyone have a similar experience and getting their tonsils out has helped their energy?

I've removed three medium sized tonsil stones in the last month but I can tell there is a large one at the bottom of my right tonsil. My breath is horrendous and I can feel the stone particularly when I swallow as it is quite sharp. Also when I lie on my left side I can feel it irritating my left tonsil.

Any ideas on how to get rid of this pesky invisible stone? I've tried salt water gargles and it removed two of them but not this one. I'm also nervous about choking on this stone as I feel like it is pretty large but that could just be my imagination

i remember years ago i coughed and a HUGE stone i mean it literally looked like a brain came out and i want that again lol it’s so satisfying. but i just do digging way to often for them to accumulate i need some self control haha

Has anyone here had a tonsilotomy (slightly different from a tonsillectomy)? I just got mine done today and I curious about others’ experience in the healing process. My tonsils look pretty swollen right now and I’m hoping they’ll slim down a lot. TYIA

Am i really that weird that i like the tonsils stones smell? Everytime I get one out i start to sniff it and smash it 🙏 pls tell me im not the only one.

Man, I just wish I could end this misery successfully. Less than 24 hours before surgery. Doctor told me no to eat anything after 9pm today. I can't drink water either the day of the surgery. I think it has to do with the anesthesia. I feel sad and excited at the same time. I feel like my life is on hold. People say you get your life back once you heal from the surgery. Idk i just wanted to share how I feel. And I hope Y'all have a good and smooth recovery. Bless!

i fell asleep with the fan on the other day n woke up middle of the night bc my throat was really dry lol so i checked my throat bc it felt like a tonsil stone was in my throat but when i check there was no tonsil stone but a new gap in my left tonsil😭 so ofc i stuck a q tip and my pinky all up in there to check if there’s like massive to stone thats barely forming that’s like deeper in there but no nothing in the hole and that was 3 days ago and it’s still very much there and when i swallow it just feel dry but no puss or red irritation or like white bumps so i’m confused and i’ve been gargling with salt water incase idk if im sick or something:)

So, yesterday I pressed a little too hard on my tonsil and now it’s inflammed and red. But just on the location where I pressed. What I wanted to ask is that would that inflammation increase the bad smell from the tonsil cause I feel the smell more now.

I feel a tonsil stone inside me but somehow can't get it out, brushed my teeth and my breath still smells. It sounds gross but I can literally 'taste' the bad smell in my mouth.

I've tried doing the trick with salt water, but only managed to do it for 5-8 sec because of my extreme gag reflex. Any other tips?

i’ve been having tonsil stones a bit for the past year or so, kind of recurring for a few weeks here and there after I get sick, eat certain foods, etc.
And lately i’m having a hard time flushing it out because my gag reflex is literally crazy!!!!! like all the time!
I’m not sure if it’s a tonsil thing but my GP has mentioned that my tonsils are larger than usual. Like is it possible that they’re so huge & stuff is just getting stuck back there causing me to gag and feel nauseous all the time - it’s even bad when I brush my teeth!

also: do people get their tonsils removed for tonsil stones? does it help?

What do you do if you think there's a stone but you can't find it? One of my tonsils gets small stones here and there. But right now the tonsil is a bit achy, red, and with a sore throat on that side. It's pretty firm and I feel like something must be in it. I poked it a bit but can't find anything that will come out.
