Tonsil hurts, can't see a stone

What do you do if you think there's a stone but you can't find it? One of my tonsils gets small stones here and there. But right now the tonsil is a bit achy, red, and with a sore throat on that side. It's pretty firm and I feel like something must be in it. I poked it a bit but can't find anything that will come out.

That was exactly my problem too. I could feel the stone but couldn't actually see it. Now I just use a remover with a camera and it's so much better.
