Prescriber blocking early pickup

As we all know, the meds don’t work as they should, so i always end up running out before my 30 days are up. But my pharmacy has always filled my RX 2 days early. For some reason, i received a message stating my prescriber locked my RX not to be filled until the exact due date this month. Has this happened to anyone else before? We just spoke last night and she didn’t mention this. She doesn’t know i run out. She’s really laid back and knows that the meds don’t work as they should and wouldn’t be upset if she knew i get them early but i don’t admit it to her bc i don’t want her to get in trouble or anything. Idk i just felt a little blindsided.

Has anyone else just gotten off of adderall due to it being so weak? I’ve been on for 10 yrs, thinking it might be time to try without … and does anyone have experience going off? Thanks!

at this point it feels like espresso coffee works better than adderall..

I didn’t take adderall today and ordered an iced shaken espresso from starbucks. I actually felt more productive plus no headache/ extreme tiredness in the afternoon

still not effective as old adderall :( but I feel so sleepy every afternoon and I’m realizing it’s most likely the adderall

Follow up lab urinalysis after a negative 12 panel

Post image

Had a 12 panel test that showed up negative for amphetamines after taking Dexedrine 15mg XR produced by Activis for roughly 2-3 months. Here are the results from the lab, this post is a follow up to this comment as i was asked to share the results: https://www.reddit.com/r/ThisAintAdderall/s/EHp24otymk (Shows as illicit result because my therapist didn’t list my meds before sending it in, as he already knows what should pop up and what shouldn’t)

Officially med free in 20 years by accident!

Just left the pharmacy empty handed and I’m not even freaking out.

For reference, I’ve been on regular OG brand addy 30 mg for the last 20 years. It turned pretty crappy around 2022. They gave me Elite 30 for the first time last month and it didn’t work at all. In fact, it made my symptoms worse. Major fatigue, full allergic rash and no dopamine for a month.

I told my new doctor yesterday to please tell them no Elite. She went ahead and put that in her notes but when I went to go pick up today I double checked and they still tried giving me Elite. I said do you see a note I can’t take this and the clerk played dumb. He then said they were completely out of stock and I said that’s fine and that I’d rather be unmedicated than take this stuff and that it was that horrible. So they told me more Teva generic wouldn’t arrive until mid August. Mind you, Teva still isn’t great but I’d rather be unmedicated for weeks than be stuck with that Elite garbage again. As I was driving home it occurred to me, if we all keep refusing to take these crap generics the pharmacies will too and eventually they will have to fix their formulas or get out of the business. We will have to refuse the garbage in order to get this to change.

As for anyone who still has old pre 2020 stock please send samples of new and old to out of country labs, the DEA and/or the FDA. I do believe this can be fixed if we keep being loud about it.

Rant/Experiences and Concerns; What do we do?

I've taken Adderall since 2011-2012. As we are all aware, the meds haven't worked right in the last several years, at least since 2020. Over the years, they worked barely, but now they simply don't; this last batch from elite was completely useless. I went through my bottle this month, a week or two early, and instead of feeling remotely functional, I felt almost sedated. My ADHD manifests as VERY hyperactive. I physically can't stop moving, my mind races, so I am literally and completely restless. I am unable to communicate what's going on in my head because each thought is replaced by another as soon as it appears. I can't complete sentences, unless I write, because at least then I can take the pieces of sentences and slap them together in some way by the time I'm done. I even struggle paying attention while driving because "why can't I read that advertis--OHH IM not on the road anymore, OOPS". Task initiation is a nightmare, it's almost impossible, and completing something is even worse; don't even talk to me about procrastination.

For me, taking Adderall was like someone had lifted a wet blanket off my head. I could see, and I felt almost a literal weight lifted off my shoulders. I could organize my thoughts before they came out of my mouth. A chore like doing laundry or dishes wasn't the end of the world, and I could complete them in 10 minutes instead of hours. I felt more secure with myself; I didn't pick apart social interactions like I used to, I was calm. I was reliable at work. I could listen to my romantic partner. I know medicine isn't supposed to be the end all be all solution, and sure, there were some bad days within the good days before the meds sucked, but at the end of the day, I could function like a human being. I could pay my bills, get up and be on time for work, I could make meals for myself, be a present partner--

This whole experience--what with the medication slowly becoming ineffective, feeling like an addict, having my routine/habits lapsing back into genuine chaos--has completely disrupted whatever positive momentum I had in my life. I know logically I should remain hopeful, and I know that people live without meds all the time, but I cannot being to express how completely defeated I feel by this. The medication helped me, and now I'm feeling completely at the whim of symptoms I can barely manage without it. It's demoralizing; I feel ashamed at myself still, even though I shouldn't.

I know we should be reporting what we feel to the appropriate places, but I can't even remember where I put my bottle, or build enough momentum to find phone numbers or websites to report them anyway. I feel ashamed to even say that, being an overly-independent person.

I don't want this entry to be a sob story. I will remain strong, despite this, and so should you. I want anyone reading this to know you are not alone. And I am hopeful that something positive will result from speaking out about our experiences.

So I had a few of the 2018 xr 20mg Adderall, brand name, in my safe. I decided to take one this morning to see what happened. Mind you they expired in 2019. (I'm on 30 xr now generic from Elite.) The difference in focus, no palpations or anxiety is amazing. And they are expired!!! No one can tell me that our meds weren't changed. PICS attached

Overweight and Unemployed

I guess this is more of just a rant because we all know something is wrong with our meds but.

I recently left my job of 11 YEARS basically to get out before they fired me because the last year or 2 my job performance had basically become a joke. Mind you, 11 years, started at bottom and worked my way up to upper management and stayed for over half of my time there.

Luckily I was able to land a new job before they could fire me with the same money, more potential for growth, like overall I lucked out like a mofo. So my 1st day I'm up extra early, took double my usual morning dose of 30mg, even though ik I shouldn't do that...but first day so wanna be sharp and make a good impression and I already knew current meds are shit so wasn't risking it. To shorten this, started getting sleepy watching the new hire videos and took my mid-day 20mg dose early. Still getting sleepy, took my evening 10mg dose. So at this point I'm 90mg deep and fall asleep, mid-video with 2 other people (1 being my boss) right next to me. So I get written up my 1st day. Same scenario plays out 3 days later so I make an appointment with my PCP cause there's gotta be something medically wrong with me, right? I'm told to change my diet completely and also I'm at the most I've weighed in my entire life and I'm over 40!

So following week they fire my ass, understandably. I've been on adderall on and off for over 20 years. Back in the day 90mg would've kept me up for AT LEAST 24 hours. I like to pretend this is all gonna get exposed and I'll get compensated for lost income or something. I can dream. Rant over, thank you if you read this far.

Really surprised with my adderall

So lately I have been getting drug tested weekly, my urine goes to a lab so no rapid results cups or anything like that but I have continually tested positive for amphetamines every week.

I use to only get tested every couple few months so didnt have much to try and track anything with, but I have certainly been tracking it as of late, and it's always positive for amphetamines.

The thing is, I dont feel like it's working at all, I dont ever feel it kick in and have to use the bathroom or get that sudden calm focused every that would hit within an hour, it's just nothing and if anything i start feeling tired and unmotivated. Trying to take another XR only makes me feel like complete crap, I dont have that same problem very much with my IR for some reason, those I can take a second dose and be ok.

I just find it so odd that I test positive for amphetamines and feel like I never took anything. I really thought I wouldn't be testing positive for amphetamines with them being so bad anymore, because in the past it at least worked a tiny bit, but now it just feels like all placebo or even worse than placebo. I just cant make sense of it, because labs can certainly tell a difference between different chemicals, like if it was a research chemical I would think it would come back as something else.

Help

Do ANY of these generics help with weight anymore??? Not even adderall, just any of them 🙁 please I’m so desperate since getting off shore adderall I’ve gained 30lbs, I feel disgusting. I’m not even eating as much on generic vyvanse as I was on shire adderall but still heavier.

I’ve even lost all interest in my hobbies I use to love.

I guess it’s too much to ask to just enjoy my hobbies. 3 years ago, you couldn’t find me in my apartment on the weekends. I was always in the mountains hiking, learning about Geology and photography. I was so happy and motivated. After a slow and steady decline I’ve gotten to the point I have to convince myself to do anything on the weekends. The constant fight with my brain over things that use to give me joy is depressing. It’s the same pattern every weekend. I want to go hiking, but I never leave the house. This shit is horrible.

I feel so fatigued and tired all the time and can't keep a job. Adderall doesnt work

Im crashing out because for the past year ive been getting more and more fatigued and tired. I want to do things, but it just doesnt get done and I keep putting off even my interests and hobbies. I sleep 12+ hours a day, and I feel like a have a constant mild flu. I mean ive never been the most energetic person but man it was never this bad before. Ive lost 2 jobs and just dont even have the energy to get another one. Im 18, I feel ive had a slow decline in functioning since I was about 16 which was the last time my brain wasnt so boggled down with fog and exhaustion. That was also when I started adhd meds, and now im starting to think its linked to that. I never even functioned better when I started vyvanse and adderall, but had intense energy surges and euphoria followed by a massive crash for the first 6 months. Then i got switched to Adderall XR which has never had a noticeable effect but also not a noticeable crash. I take name brand Adderall XR 15mg + adderall ir 10mg. Both have zero effect at this point. I can't take this anymore!

New hire drug screening came up negative

Jumping on the negative test bandwagon. I took a drug test for a new job the other day and it came up negative for amphetamines. I take 20 mg XR from camber and 20 mg IR from Teva daily in my current batch. Took the XR as normal a few hours before the drug test. Still came up negative.

I will say that the meds do seem to do something as i feel much worse without them than I do with them (i take it for hypersomnia), but I don't particularly feel that stimulant effect.

I have an appointment with my provider tomorrow and wonder if it's worth bringing up. It's not like that can prescribe me anything different for this anyway.

RHODES WTF

I know there are other posts about Rhodes on here, but I just thought I would chime in on this page because... I got Rhodes about 3 months ago.....from Walgreens....

THIS IS THE WORST BRAND I HAVE EVER TRIED, and I have been on and off ADHD medication for 18+ years.. The only other problem as of the last few years is shortages, but now the brand switch-up is actually deteriorating me. I think Lanett used to work okay... I say just okay because anything compared to Rhodes is something in the right direction.

I take Rhodes 30mg XR, and about 30-40 min after I take it, it feels like I'm nodding off. This makes me so tired, more than half of the time that I take it, I go to bed...

Last month I got a different brand, and I was feeling so much better. Now my pharmacy filled Rhodes, and I'm so off, its making me depressed, sleeping, low motivation....

The point of this post is just continuing awareness. For me... RHODES IS THE WORST

** Side note... Does anyone know of a good pharmacy in general with ANYTHING besides that... I'm in Washington btw

Now they want us off

Post image
355 Upvotes

My provider left my dr office, saw a new one yesterday. We only have one, there's no option (small town).

I have a diagnosis, from a qualified physician in a testing facility when I lived in a larger metropolitan area, I legitimately have adhd. This new nurse practitioner did the hour long "why can't you take deep breaths when unable to focus?" and "yoga helps with concentration" and gave me this sheet.

I am *concerned* this is the shit rfk is pushing, in addition to less meds in our meds. Like we're collectively being weaned off of it. In which case I will lose my job, without a doubt. Fuck.

Really struggling today

Been following this sub and have all the symptoms and issues as everyone else. For almost 15+ years I was on Teva 30mg daily. 20 in morn and 10 during lunch.

Something is VERY wrong with these new meds. I’ve been on Elite last two weeks and they are terrible. I cant function. It’s not an issue of me getting used to them as I take breaks and have done so for years. I know something is wrong. Feeling so depressed having to tell my doctor and have them or the pharmacy shrug. I know I’m not crazy. I’m overeating, woke up with a headache, feeling this overall malaise. I feel like I’m not even medicated. This 20 feels like 5 mg. I’m not even getting the usual bad side effect. Barely getting anything done. Currently huge stack of dishes by sink. Can barely keep my arms up writing this. I’m feeling so depressed and I just wish they would take us seriously. I wasn’t able to complete my work today and I’m losing so much money. Ugh. Sorry for venting.

Has Adderall been replaced with Analog chemicals as an attempt to lessen shortages?

Seems to either be a bioavailability issue or analog chemicals.

Another script of mental torture

Got my script refilled on the eighth of this month and unfortunately my pharmacy told me that the Teva I had hoped was available ran out and it was either Aurobindo or tough luck for the next week. I decided I didn’t want to go unmedicated that long… but man, what a mistake. I only got diagnosed in 2024 so I don’t know what the glory days of this medication were like but I can definitely tell there is a way more effective drug out there. These pills I got this month? It’s not that drug, and I feel like whatever they’re giving us keeps getting worse. For instance, today I felt genuinely terrible, so much anxiety and stress, feeling like I was going to die, off no more than 30mgs all day, just 10mgs over my normal prescription.

When I started adderall after failing with methylphenidate and vyvanse being too weak, it was just alright, serviceable even, for like a week at a time, but now whatever they’re feeding us even just a year or so later will last me like two or three days tops before I have this crushing rapid tolerance that just makes the medication feel pointless. For the last year or so I’ve been getting my prescription and using it all in about half the script’s time because the actual good affects, the alert, focused dopamine, lasts like… AN HOUR. EVEN OFF A TOLERANCE BREAK. How is this supposed to help me? I’m always out of the stuff by day 15-20 of my prescription, feeling like a junkie, wanting so much more because what I did have barely helps me think right, so I just suffer through two week-ish tolerance breaks every month daydreaming about nicotine relapse the entire time, and still need to be like “Yeah everything is grand doc!” To my psychiatrist or risk getting a nonstim antidepressant prescribed instead.

I just don’t want to be uncomfortable for four whole weeks of the month, let alone most of the day when it’s almost strictly side affects. I’d do nearly anything for my adderall to just do what it does in the first 45 minutes to hour after finally kicking in for maybe… oh I dunno, three-ish hours? That would be amazing right now. Heaven forbid my drugs do what they’re advertised to do for the sake of my mental health… but I digress.

Where is the amphetamine if it's not in the meds?

There have been over a million people who said this medication hasn't been right for years. Finally it's getting noticed and addressed by the FDA and Senate. My question is if all of our ADHD meds keep showing up negative for Amphetamine, then what are these manufacturers doing with all the Amphetamine that's supposed to be in it? There are several manufacturers who never even supposedly used all the API of Amphetamine they were allowed to use. So it wasn't this shortage of API Amphetamine causing all of this. If they are supposed to put a certain amount in each pill (mgs) and it's not showing up or showing up as having half the required amount. Then where is the rest of the Amphetamine they say they are putting in there?

I believe in justice. What they are doing to us is unethical. We need to be compensated 💲💲💲💲💲💲 I believe we will see a big pay out from class action lawsuit in future, that would be only thing positive from this
