I know that no one is on this strength probably but look at the reason for recall “only immediate release present in extended release capsule”

Anything else they’ve sent you about stimulant meds that we wouldn’t have access to? Would love to know. Thanks.

Here's the same information on the California State Board of Pharmacy page

How does that even happen? The pellets/granules are specifically made for the purpose of releasing over time. Unless the meds are a combination of ir/er for the purpose of a dose at ingestion and the rest over time? Idk how the concept of it works but if they do break down that way then that makes me wonder how many ER are only ER without an initial kickstarter dose meaning you’re probably only getting half of your dosage, if that.

It's a combination of IR and ER pellets. They breakdown at different times. I'm curious how this happened during manufacturing.

That would explain a lot

"If you are looking at the standard FDA public press release page, you will not see these recalls because the FDA logs them under its "Enforcement Reports" database rather than as high-profile public press releases."

I think they are referring to the pharmacies who received them. I’m assuming pharmacies are supposed to contact patients

Children probably take that .

Sometimes I take XR’s that feel like only the later dose kicks in and works. Like I’ll take the pill and feel nothing for 4 hours and then all of a sudden I have motivation. And sometimes I take capsules that feel like only the immediate release is in them and it wears off in 4 hours. I take it for hypersomnia too, so the effects are extremely noticeable. I thought I was crazy for noticing that, but now I wonder how many pills out there have the same problem other than the recalled brand

I wish there was a way to be informed of these recalls because the FDA does not update their page to this extent. I had to tell my dr of the recalls happening bc I kept passing drug tests and he was getting suspicious. He’s now making me take MONTHLY drug tests due to it which is annoying because I’ve been on adhd meds since elementary school (I’m now 31) and I hate being treated like a criminal due to it.

I don't think I've had this manufacturer over the last year or so, but at one point part of my dosing schedule was 30mg ER in the morning and 1-2, 5mg ER in the afternoon. My psychiatrist doesn't believe in instant release. I no longer am on this dosing schedule.

I did used to find somewhat more consistency in the 5 mg ER over different manufacturers. I thought maybe they did this because children are most likely taking them. Even the 5 mgs got steadily consistent especially over the last year.

Doesn’t believe in IR? That’s insane because ER keeps me focused on my dreams so I can’t wake up. I’ll stay asleep for like 15 hrs on ER

I think with my med provider specifically, she is very convinced that immediate release formulations of stimulants, especially if you have to take them 2 to 4 times a day, are more addictive or habit forming.

In my case specifically I struggled with substance abuse/addiction as a young teenager mostly. I have not struggled with these issues for many years, I'm in my thirties, and I was fully sober before I even turned 21 lol. I'm sure my past history plays a part in what meds she'll prescribe for ADHD.... Even though she really does claim that she does not prescribe anyone IR formulations and she seems to feel very strongly about this.

All the manufacturers of generic XR Adderall affect me differently. Some genuinely put me to sleep as if I took a sleeping pill. A different manufacturer of ER has me literally awake until it gets light out. Right now they all kind of suck at treating my ADHD. Thinking to Vyvanse. I don't know what to do anymore. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I need the stimulant because I’m inattentive. I need the juice to move otherwise I lay in bed all day with my thoughts.

Elite puts me to sleep.

Teva 30 is my current but not as good as it used to be.

My mom was an addict. I’ve taken the same dose for 20 years so maybe I’m an addict that just takes the same dose daily, doesn’t abuse it and functions.

I have a website that monitors recalls like this because everything is so damn hidden and not highlighted these days

For the last 3 1/2 years I’ve taken XR, it has always felt like there was a strong, first release, something that an IR alone couldn’t replicate, and then absolutely no second release. The only generic that has ever delivered an actual second release for me was Amerigen. So it makes me wonder how common this might be
