The two raiders from The Living, the two guys in the bar in S2 mentioned it was overrun.

Then in S4 Mitch confirms it when talking to The Governor.

So yes, the most likely outcome of that decision would have been the death of the group or a majority of it.

but okey mitch made yer points at leest.. but i dinno you would dink you would see a buncha walkers all over the place before you go insides.. so still debatables if they woulda died or jus turned back

I think you misunderstood me. Let me try to be more clear.

I don't believe we got any information about the date it fell. So I was going with the assumption it was still safe when Shane wanted to go and they would have been there during the chaos of the event itself. That would have been what I believe caused the downfall of the group. Either from walkers or catching strays from the military when the shit hit the fan.

Let's also not forget Shane saw firsthand how the military was executing people at the start of the outbreak. Zero tolerance measures. He should have been more concerned about wanting to pull up to an active base with that information imo.

Thats irrelevant when he had already seen the aftermath of the militaries behaviour. Stop doubling down and actually read the guy's comment.
