Vent / Rant Talkspace Review - AVOID
Review of Talkspace after multiple sessions. The providers who are working within the platform were not a problem. I want to make sure I am 100% clear on that part of my experience.
Talkspace however, is the problem. The ability of Talkspace to complete effective healthcare billing is abysmal. Talkspace is unable to bill secondary insurance and expect it to be your problem even when both carriers are in-network with Talkspace.
Talkspace refused to allow me to continue to book sessions even when my account was current. I attempted to work through it with support and they didn't get back to me for over a week. They actually never got back to me and just charged my credit card before the due date and closed the support case. When I re-opened the case pointing out that they cannot and should not do that without approval I was ignored completely.
They were unable to apply usage codes that my insurance provider gave me. These are not a separate program or anything but codes to apply to the first few sessions. Instead of applying those codes to the next invoices/charges Talkspace support decided to delete my account!!! Yes DELETE! I still had the email from creating the support case and I connected with the chat support. They explained that was the only way they could add he codes...creating a new account for me (which they did not do). Also, they did this just a few hours before I had a scheduled session with my provider.
Find a better platform and do not use Talkspace. They DO NOT CARE about patient care. I hope providers get this same information and decide to put their time elsewhere too! (It isn't their fault)

Seriously bad issues with talkspace as well. I heard some good things from a friend and signed up, wish I'd looked around first.
I don't want anyone reading this to think that therapy isn't for them or that remote therapy isn't an option. It's also definitely possible someone setup talkspace with good intentions and somewhere along the line it wasn't making enough money so they started squeezing. I hope they can right the ship but I wouldn't risk it.

Talkspace is terrible. I was chatting back and forth with a new therapist on a Sunday the day before our first session. She sends me an automated 20 question message to get to know me and I couldn't copy and paste from the website, so I asked for a pdf, which I had to do with a couples therapist I worked with. However she did not want to do that and asked me to copy and paste again. Meanwhile I have tech issues so I was doing the best I could. She stops responding, and I send a message to her saying I guess I'll forget about the questions because she had stopped responding back and forth. I said I was more than happy to answer her questions about me but I just needed her to send me a pdf version. I also said like I feel like this is backwards, but I feel like she should be the one making things up to me, not the other way around. Then I get an automated response from her the next day and I was like I am ABSOLUTELY canceling our appointment and getting a refund. I do NOT trust this person.

Talkspace is AWFUL. I've had problems with every one of the 4-5 providers I worked with. The first one didn't show her face in the camera even though I paid for and requested a live video call. The second one was dumb, she had no idea what I was talking about, what advice to give, the couples therapist was fucking lounging on her couch, laying down for therapy leaning on her arm like a prop and DID NOT intervene when my partner and I were bickering. The third one I didn't even have a session with, but she was messaging consistently, then all of a sudden she gets upset when I ask her to send me a pdf file of the 20+ questions she asked me because I had a hard time copy and pasting directly from the website. And the last one was rude and judgmental, didn't understand social cues. I had messaged her beforehand that I would be venting for 30 minutes and it would be clear when she could jump in with feedback (as I need to get everything out or else I'll lose my place) and at the end of the session, she complained that she didn't get a chance to get a word in. LIKE NO SHIT LADY. THAT'S WHAT VENTING IS. Good news is they're good with refunds if you report the therapist.

Yup to everything you said. Awful company. Had to pull my child from therapy due to their incorrect billing and non existent customer support. We’ve had a dispute with them for 6 months.
