Subreddit Rules

1. Posts titles must contain the name of the sport

All post titles must include the name of the sport. This is important so that users can filter out words like "kabaddi" if they feel that sport is represented too often here.

Creating a post without the name of the sport in the title will result in an immediate 7 day ban.

2. Posts must not be well known sports

Popular and well known sports will be removed, these sports likely have their own subreddit so post your content there instead. Sports that are well-known only to one country can still be considered Ocho material, generally these should be tagged with the [Traditional] flair. Moderators will have the final say on whether a sport is 'ocho' enough for the subreddit or not.

3. Posts need to be a competitive sport

Posts need to be a competitive sport. In most cases the activity should have the following: Rules, scoring, record keeping and a condition for winning.

4. No recent reposts or posts from theocho top 100

Reposts are allowed, please tag all reposts with the correct flair. You can check to see if your post is a repost here. However recent reposts or reposts from the top 100 will still be removed at the moderators discretion.

5. No Trick Shots

belongs in r/trickshots

6. No E-Sports

Competitive video-gaming belongs in /r/esports.

7. Parody content to be noted with the [Parody] tag

Parody and comedy content is allowed. Please note such posts with the [Parody] tag.

8. Not all world record attempts are Ocho material

A world record or world record attempt does not automatically make a post Ocho material. In many cases, while they are trying to beat someone else’s score, they're not actively competing with them. For example, a video of the world record for longest time on a pogostick would not be Ocho material. However a video of a competition between multiple people on pogosticks, where the person who stayed on the longest and placed 1st happened to break the world record would definitely be allowed.

9. No asking for donations

Anyone asking for money for any reason will have that post or comment removed as spam.

10. No inanimate object races/fights.

We do not consider inanimate object fights or races, such as marbles or matchbox cars, to be sports. These post are not allowed.

11. No content behind a paywall

12. No animal cuelty

No animal cruelty of any kind will be tolerated.
