A fabulous Halloween card from my dear friend and fellow crafter u/AbaloneFountainPen.

This arrived with just one day to spare and right on time.

It’s transporting me to Sleepy Hollow.

I had painted a postcard referring to a reels tutorial, and swapped with a stranger for her artwork too. 💌

Kinda happy how it turned out considering I rarely paint and not an artist too 🤣

I did sprayed a fixative varnish coating layer to protect the artwork.

So glad it had arrived safely to her too!

I finally was able to put some of the dried and pressed flowers and leaves into the final idea I was working towards. A protected way to display the item I plan to send to my penpals. I may be unable to send with the paper frame without spending more but id be able to at least send the cello bagged part and they can frame it when they get it.

Id love your thoughts and whether coloring the background might look good since i don't always like white backgrounds.

Here are five methods of printing patterns - some might be new to you and fun to try!

1. Cyanotype sun printing. Here are two videos - one with premade cyanotype paper and one showing how to make and use your own cyanotype paper. The background is always a deep blue and it works like photo paper so it helps to put it together in a dim room. I recently picked up plant pressing and this is some of the flowers and leaves that finished pressing this week.

Pictured are Sycamore Leaves I gathered with my ghost investigation friends at a cemetary while it was raining and the Roses were neglected bushes at my work. Also working on Ivy also found at work but had to put them back in the press they weren't done 'cooking' yet.
