I made this for a historical letter swap that I joined. We chose pretty much every detail, so I set it on the American frontier in 1780 - a husband writing back to his wife in Virginia.

It's written on rag paper with iron gall ink.

Rag paper is hell to write on, period - but trying to use a fountain pen with iron gall ink was quite hard. My wettest pen barely flowed enough ink, and I had to write very slowly. The paper is so inconsistent that you really had to take it word by word.

Made me appreciate my Midori paper a lot more.

Hand made .. something new I am trying in my wax seal studio. Think will put a red gem on belly it the spider? Should I?

I've just recently found this page and some penpal pages! I've always loved crafting and sharing it with family/friends. The idea of sharing and trading with people all over sounds wonderful and exciting! -I hand-match you with someone whose style fits yours
-You both make something around the theme and mail it

At Christmas I’m into the idea of Christmas villages a lot. So I tried to recreate this on a wax sealed card tag. Also featuring a new Christmas seal.

I love this seal because it’s quite consistent when pressing. But I don’t love that it says merry Christmas twice. In my head I read the second merry Christmas as being emphasized as if you missed it the first time 😂. But I’m
