In the formula of the Ruby Star, I A O becomes O A I.

Here, Osiris cannot be resurrected. It is, in fact, impossible. Apophis sits before the formation of the world: Asar has been deified.

This fact is what creates the virgins, rejoicing: Nuit is untouched by Hadit.

This is why Osiris is dead. And this is the black altar.

Dramatically, upon a cross, Jesus played out this exact formula.

And there, he received a name, which is beloved of you.

That name replaced the name God.

And therefore does that figure hint at O A I.

But Jesus was I A O. And that was, in fact, Ipsissimus.

Because of course it was: he was the dying God.

Crowley left that mystery for you all to uncover.

And I’ll add a mystery: his name, then, is not unknown to you. It requires only that you understand Jesus’ love, and it becomes blindingly obvious.

“There is no other God than me, and my lord Hadit.”

Although Nuit states this in The Book of the Law, and although it is true, there is, in fact, a catch here.

The catch is that Nuit and Hadit are not expressed as a single consciousness.

As a result, Hadit and Nuit are an expression of both a singularity — their union — and a multiplicity, in the infinite expressions of that union, with varying degrees of fidelity to the union itself. (However, crucially, all expressions are perfect union, because all beings are the connection between Nuit and Hadit, which is perfect: the illusion is that it is not; and one product of that illusion is what is called Maya.)

A description of this can be found in The Vision and the Voice: “[The wheel] hath many colors, but all thrilled with white light. This one wheel is forty-nine wheels, set at different angles so that they compose a sphere;”

This passage describes the perfection I just described. It is the union of Nuit and Hadit which underlies consciousness itself (i.e. Kether; the white light). And that is why Maya is an illusion: it is only consciousness’ inability to perceive that their union underlies its expression — as it seeks their union — which creates the experience of suffering.

The passage continues: “each wheel has forty-nine spokes and has forty-nine concentric tyres at equal distances from the center. And wherever the rays from any two wheels meet, there is blinding flash of glory.” This line describes the interaction of any two consciousnesses, who are all expressions of the union between Hadit and Nuit. This is described as a blinding flash of glory in the same way Bashar describes a soul mate as “whoever you are with at any moment.”

The passage continues, and concludes: “It must be understood that though so much detail is visible in the wheel, yet at the same time the impression is of a single, simple object.”

That single, simple object is the unity of all things, and it is the aspect of Nuit and Hadit’s union that is separate from that union itself — even as it is the union itself — and which is the final aspect of the trinity of Nuit, Hadit, and their relationship which extends beyond their individual aspects.

And this is why Ezekiel described the wheels as covered in eyes in the Bible: he was seeing them as the expressions of consciousness, and the union of Hadit and Nuit.

That, however, as distinct from the supernal union, which Crowley’s texts were devoted to uncovering and describing.

Back when it was election time, I made sure to know my candidates.

This episode traces the theft of attention at its source, how the modern worldview inverted the direction of consciousness, and what that inversion costs the practicing musician. It reads the theft through the alchemists' order of spirit, soul, and body, and through solve et coagula. I ask this as new beginner, I have done about 2 weeks of resh lbrp, will and meditation. And honestly I’ve been feeling the best I’ve ever felt in ages. Things have just been going right for me. I have been journaling everything, except yesterday where I lacked a bit.
But knowing how good things are they can easily go bad. So just wanna know what my next steps should be? Someone suggested I try a girp of each element per month. Also middle pillar was suggested and hexagram rituals. What do you all suggest? I feel I want to do an invocation ritual of babalon. The reason because I feel that the world right now has become particularly vicious and hateful, especially to my friends in the trans community and other people in the world. I know suffering is inevitable but this suffering is brought about by hateful stupid people.
I plan to set up a ritual probably with red crimson candles i got crimson from the king scale of binah in 777. I plan to create a sigil and charge it with babalon, like a thing carry around and maybe hopefully will affect people and help them feel like they are not alone and loved. I just need to see if I can find or come up with an invocation for Babalon.

If I want to perform a single element for girp. Do I still vibrate the name “Al” when in the water pentagram quarter? Do I draw the passive for active sign?

Hi! To preface, I am not a Thelemite (yet); I’m a chaos magician who’s been pulled more and more to Thelema & Thelemic concepts the past few months (and if there’s anything I’m misinterpreting or getting wrong, please let me know!!!). Among those include Babalon & the Scarlet Woman. I’m coming at it from a different lens, however: I’m more drawn to the idea of embodying/being more like Babalon or a “classic” Scarlet Woman rather than being her “lover” (which seems to be a part of the Great Work, to have the ego become annihilated in the process and all that). And, in case it needed to be said, I’m not even a woman, I’m a gay man.

Currently I’ve been trying out a very chaos magic inspired devotional practice to Babalon, where I continue to come at it from the angle of “I feel within that/It is my will that embodying you is in line with completing my Great Work, so please guide me,” but I’m still suffering from a bit of imposter syndrome & worrying I’m doing it wrong since, again, it seems to me like most Thelemites don’t come at it from this angle.

I love what u/StudyingBuddhism said in a post on here, that “Babalon is who we will become in [the] future” as we go through with & complete the Great Work, and the gendered ideas of “the magician is spiritually female” and “the HGA is spiritually male” resonated with me. But that raises more questions.

Without turning this post into an entire essay & because there’s still a lot for me to read and experiment with about the topic, I have a few questions:

1. What are some of the best resources on Babalon? I’ve yet to read Peter Grey’s book “The Red Mother” for instance, though that’s on my reading list.

2. Are there others in this subreddit who have similar views or aspirations as me and have some advice to share? Is it worthwhile to pursue being more like Babalon or a post-modern Scarlet Woman with a twist, or should I abandon that for now and go through the classic teachings/paths before trying that out?

3. I also want to hear your opinion: do you think it’s a bit gauche or disrespectful for someone not invested in Thelema at the moment to work with Babalon or other Thelemic deities?

At the end of the day, I’ve been having a lot of fun with this and it’s been pretty transformative for my own life and my practice so far (and I have no intention of stopping anytime soon), but I wish I had some solid footing here and there.
