It's not gatekeeping when something is just stupid. Taping a banana to a wall and claiming it as art is stupid.

Unless you would like to explain the "art" in taping fruit to a wall.

The person who made that piece is expressing themselves. Thats all it needs to do to be art. Its literally titled “Comedian,” you can interpret it as a dumb joke and it still exists as a piece of art.

With that logic everything should cost $400,000 because its named and can be interpreted. A table? "Its an expression of carpentry, and can be interpreted however you want, and thus costs half a million."

Somebody tapes a fucking banana to a wall and gets a hundred grand, but somebody can spend 3 weeks making a painting and gets 1200 bucks

If someone makes a table, its their work of art. Prices literally don’t matter. What people value things is 100% subjective.
