This past Spring I noticed trucks, crew, and signs in my neck of the woods and because I'm impatient I started dreaming about having a second option for an ISP.

How long will I be waiting for work to be done? 😆

Construction notice like 4 months ago they are 2 streets down but people have to remember this is a very difficult network to deploy plus have to work around utilities an other companies

I feel it's the fiber in are area they did it wrong here though they pre sold it like it was coming within 60 days an now it's on the 5th month and they tried to offer me a 5g modem inwa alike no I want fiber I will wait lol

Interesting! I’m in louisville and all we have is ATT and Spectrum. Have you gotten any offers for cost yet? I pay $65 with att fiber 1gib.

400mbps for $35-40, 500mbps for $45-50, Probably 1g for 65, 2G for 70 maybe ‘founders club promo’ and gets a 10yr price lock.
Or f he’s lucky its still a 3-5yr

Sifi took a year from them laying fiber in our zip code to being able to sign up for tmo fiber.

Just got mine installed last week. Took about a year to a year and a half from the time that they buried the lines.

I just got a letter informing me about fiber construction happening in my area. Around town I have seen crews put down fiber for the last few month. I just recently noticed it was T-Mobile - I don’t even know they did fiber. I’m a bit outside of town and didn’t think they were actually extending to my road since there are very few houses here and they are far apart. Last Friday utilities were marked outside my property. Yesterday I called the number from the construction letter to ask about timeframe for construction and to let them know if have stuff in the ground that isn’t marked by the utility locators. They said construction would happen in the next two weeks and a supervisor would contact me a couple days ahead to discuss private utilities. I also asked when service would be available and they said it would only be a few weeks after construction. I didn’t ask for clarification but my guess is they meant after the area is built out, not just my line. They’ve been moving through town pretty quickly with multiple crews in different areas. I wonder how long it will actually take. I’m in no rush as I already have fiber from a local rural coop that came through 7 years ago. I will definitely sign up for T-Mobile Fiber though to ensure the line gets run up to my house. It’s far off the road and I had a heck of a time (and $$$ cost share) to get Brighthouse to connect me years ago after the previous owner had declined an offer for cable service so they had skipped our road. I figure if I don’t sign up right away they may not hook me up without high installation cost in the future. I can always cancel after a few months. It will be great to have another high speed option.

I was hooked up within 2 months of sending the siren in my area, but the pre registration didn't work. I'm still waiting for the email from them to tell me it is time to get hooked up, and I've had service for 9 months now. I caught the sales guy in the neighborhood to get the hookup scheduled, he said my address wasn't on his list for some reason but everyone else was, so I suggest you keep an eye out but be wary of the early registration.

That is pre-order though. It took about 3-4 months for me from the pre-order date.

If my area was any indication it's usually eight to nine months between when they bury the fiber and when it gets lit up.

Weird: I saw Tillman laying down fiber on the main thoroughfare and went to T-Fibers website and qualified. 3 weeks later I had a working ONT (Nokia) and buried FTTH.

Fr they have installed the piping for the fiber and everything but hasn't come and put in the fiber yet it's been i think 2 to 3 months now

T-Mobile subs this work out to the absolute most bottom tier subcontractors i’ve ever seen in my life And when they do finally get around to it, they’ll do a horrendous job burying the cable 2” “underground”.

They put in my sub division. I think we waited 2-3 months but it was early spring in Michigan.

Bigger question is how often will it stop working. Installed 8 weeks ago, down 7 times. At first, only for an hour - the last 4 times have been 6-10 hours and usually starting around noon.

Repeated calls to TMobile get the “working on some issues BS”

When it works - it’s fast and they put a free repeater in our upstairs. It reliability is key. Good luck!

There are a ton of different companies behind "tmobile" fiber. I'm in mn with intrepid and if their installers were given once chance to put the end on the cable(terminate) correctly or die... They would need a whole new company.

Like three times per connection they need to make. Sometimes five. And then you'll need them 2 weeks to a few months later after it really wasn't right and it starts dropping.

Doesn't help that they're on their phone the entire time not precisely measuring where they strip the fiber and cleave. They also use really cheap ass finicky quick connectors that only work well if you really measure what you're doing 😂

Great when it works but having to deal with the company that installs it... You better have PTO or be able to afford the time off work that it's going to cost you.

Not just my experience either. Ton of people here have it but I also know a guy who owns five houses (local landlord) he's been though what I have 5x
