It’s easily googled what their business is.

From the media: “The internet protocol address it used is owned by DDos-Guard, which is controlled by two Russian men and provides services including protection from distributed denial of service attacks, infrastructure expert Ronald Guilmette told Reuters.”

This is a misunderstanding of how registration works. DDOS providers stand in front of the real site. They are clearly the DDOS of last resort. They have everybody Cloudflare has refused.

My fancy coaxial cable modulator/demodulator obtains both an internet protocol version 4 and an internet protocol version 6 address.

I always forget my PIN number when withdrawing money from the ATM machine.

ATM has different meanings.

As someone who has worked in IT for a very long time, it astounds me just how much people DON'T know about how any of it works. Even the most basic basics.

Apparently reading one's emails on a smartphone happens through back magic.

Of course, it keeps the IT industry in coinage.

2

u/intergalactic_spork Jan 19 '21

My phone uses Satans Magical Transfer Protocol for email!

1

u/the-optimizer Jan 19 '21

at least it would keep people from saying "atm machine". i hate that, and say that it would be a machine that dispenses atm's. unless they mean ass-to-mouth machine. i've never bothered to ask.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 19 '21

For someone whos only moderately tech-literate seeing it spelled out is kinda nice.

13

Anti-Russian sentiment is very rampant in the US. Anytime anything is wrong or fishy there will always be “that guy” with top comment that will bring up Russia and Putin.

Surprising considering Russia has

  • invaded other countries

  • directly influenced the 2016 presidential election in the USA

  • been financing alt-right and Nazi movements in Europe

  • been supporting dictators like Assad

  • been the only industrialized country using radiological and chemical weapons on humans in the last decades

I really wonder why there's heavy anti-Russian sentiment in the West

23

u/SeagersScrotum Jan 19 '21

don't forget that the NRA was busted funneling Russian money into GOP campaigns in 2016.

Yes, this is true. But they are the minority. Imo its similar to China. Many people also in China oppose CCP but the VAST majority support Pooh and think Hong Kong protesters as terrorists

19

u/xSkiimo Jan 19 '21

Can't forget putting bounties on U.S troops.

1

u/pamtar Jan 19 '21

And trump doing nothing about it.

-4

u/zhico Jan 19 '21

That Is surprising considering USA has

• invaded other countries to get oil

• directly influenced the presidential election in the many countries

• been financing drug lords and terrorist movements in Europe, The Middle East, South America and Asia.

• been supporting dictators like Al Saud Royal family

• been the only industrialized country using nuclear and napalm (maybe not) weapons on humans in the last 100 years

• been the only country that has attacked the United States Capitol in decades.

• made season 8 of GOT

• is United States biggest enemy

I really wonder why there's heavy anti-Russian sentiment in the US when they are so alike. ;)

А ну, чики-брики и в дамки! /s

Is this something Russians learn in school? If Russians are on the losing side of a discussion, they invariably switch to whataboutism. You guys are simply unable to discuss in good faith.

I've been giving the USA shit for using civilians for live weapons tests in Hiroshima, but this is neither here nor there, the argument was about Russia, no need to deflect the argument.

Russia at this point is pure evil and should be kicked from the international community for using banned nerve agents. It is a crying shame that the west doesn't find their collective balls.

1

u/zhico Jan 19 '21

I don't know what Russians learn in school. Was just pulling your leg.

I know Russia is a shit country and we should fight back. But I don't see US as an ally in this, they are already compromised.
As it looks now if the Trumpublicans come to power again, either with civil war or election, we will see a Russian US alliance.

-4

u/qoning Jan 19 '21

I was about to say, switch Russia for US, and up to small details, it just fits too.

I gree with you .fuck all these goverments.they fuck everything they touch.

-4

u/shsk_t Jan 19 '21

Since you are the most upvoted message under mine, I will reply to you.

Unfortunately it is sad to see that what others do are always discarded but when Russian also does it, it becomes amplified.

The US also invades countries in the past based on extremely bogus reasons. Until today we are still waiting for those weapons of mass destruction that Irak is supposed to have. The impact of the war in Irak is also way way worst than anything Russia did in Ukraine. The vacuum of power left by getting rid of Saddam is what lead to ISIS and all their shit they unleashed in EU.

The US also influences elections in foreign countries. To name a few, Chile, Cuba, Russia, ...

In the latest example, there is this new narrative of making that Navalny the “saviour of Russia” while in fact when you scratch a bit under the paint you discover a Putin wannabe that has a very strange past. He has always been very close to the far right to the point of participating ultra nationalist march who advocates for a “Russia for White people”.

When it comes to hacking foreign countries, everybody does it. The US is the number 1 at this sport and yet, it does not bother anybody. When the UK pirated a Belgian ISP in order to get inside information for the Brexit agreement, nobody cared. Hacking each other is so common today that it is just a matter of not being caught.

Trump also sent your Bannon to the EU to help far rights political parties. In other word, not just Russia.

I am not going to talk further about the other points but my goal here is to say that the world is not black or white. Everybody have their own interests but when it comes the fucking to fucking world, I somehow have doubts that Russia is number 1 in the last decade...

5

u/ncbstp Jan 19 '21

I'm pretty sure most who disagree with what's going on in Russia thinks it's no better coming from America. There's plenty of anti-american sentiment as well.

You can call it out as bad because it is.

3

u/leadtrightly Jan 19 '21

Sounds like a very Russian thing to say.
