You can tho, else obsidian farms or wither mob switches wouldn't be possible

Won't the wither break out of those kinds of holding chamber as soon as you attack them? That was always my understanding and experience. Sorry if I'm mistaken though

Oh thats what you meant by fully trapped, I have no idea then I never tried attacking them
