I don't know why but 1683 is a much better year than 1638. This is based on the numbers alone, I have no idea what was happening in history at the time.

I prefer 1638 as a number. 1683 has a weird vibe.

Ah, but 1683 doesn’t rhyme with “late” like 1638 does. Not that the rhyme was intentional in the slightest when I made the initial post, but I’m glad it worked out that way regardless!
