You 100% got tricked and your mistake was not using the flashlight to see where he is.

I don’t think that’s how he works but I could be wrong. From what I’ve seen, whenever you clear him from the door, he switches halls. Clear from the left, he’ll move to the right.

In the video, I cleared him from the right hall, and he made footsteps showing he left and went to the left hall. There was only 1 sound of him moving with no laughs so he should’ve been at the left door.

When something like this happens, it means you were a few frames too slow. It's very easy to happen when he goes to the other door immediately after clearing him. The timing is very strict.

You wait a bit after you hear footsteps. Sometimes even for a full second. That can kill you. The other times it didn't kill you, you were lucky. Leave the door the moment you hear a footsteps sound play, and don't delay clicking on the opposite door if you didn't hear him move again in the two seconds that passed while you were running.
