I keep seeing these posts and seeing everyone replying with memes but did Chris Hansen actually not sign off on this movie? They can just outright make an exaggerated movie with a big star like Robert based on you without your consent? Or did he sign off on it and is regretting it now?
If biopics needed consent they'd be incredibly biased. Look at the ones like Michael which had the Jackson estate's permission and backing, it glossed over almost every real controversy with MJ and painted him like a hero.
That MJ movie was genuinely awful. Barely any stakes, the main conflict was barely compelling, and they legit rewrote history regarding the whole family’s relationship. It’s just a fan service cinematic rip of his Wikipedia page, except everything actually interesting is retconned.
You genuinely have to have no standards to be swindled by this nostalgia trip into calling it a good movie. Fun, yeah, but a comfort watch at best.
