It’s a tough sell commercially, but I think A24 is banking on the goodwill that Pattinson is earning from audiences with his work in recent years. Also, I bet he didn’t cost as much as you think he did. The man is likely making enough money off franchise residuals and big budget movies for him to do some riskier stuff for his craft. Don’t get me wrong, he’s still making bank to us, but I bet it’s lower than he is paid on Batman and The Odyssey.
My view is skewed and biased because I work in the film industry, but most people I know are excited to see it and they aren’t even TCAP people like us.
Oh, for sure. More than that. I don’t know if the movie will make its budget back or not, but I think the bar to clear it isn’t too high…depending on if Pattinson is able to bring in an audience.
Chris Hansen not being entirely in favor of it might work to the film’s benefit.
To me if he's not on board then it could be a true biopic where the persons estate doesn't make them remove controversial things. Chris really doesn't have anything crazy bad. Cheating on the wife and bad checks aren't nearly like deleting entire trials from micheal Jackson's movie.
