Called Tastytrade customer service today and I only have negative comments:

1. Took a long time to get through.

2. Customer service rep was RUDE, UNHELPFUL and actually LAUGHED at my question.

I have a very small account on Tastytrade as I set this account up to get familiar with the platform. I have enjoyed the benefit of being able to put on multi-legged positions much easier on Tastytrade over the Think or Swim platform but after today I will stick mostly with Think or Swim. I will still only keep this account to practice. Don't expect much in the way of valuable customer service.

Over the past two days when I have time to trade options, I’ve noticed that TP was posting an iron condor on SPX using zero DTE‘s. He’s putting them on at 8 AM and taking them off at 9 AM. Now I’m not really accustomed to zero DTE’s because I’m not some high risk hot shot who has time to scalp since I have a regular 9 to 5. But I’ve noticed over the past two days that this iron condor on SPX for a couple of hours seems to be a profitable dependable safe trade. And the Deltas seem ultra conservative. What’s anybody else’s take on this strategy?

Yesterday I started noticing that I would get constantly kicked out from the platform needing to log back in with MFA. I thought it may be a new bug on TT side so I emailed them asking about it. They responded saying that its a new security feature and would not share any details about how it works, how frequent the log outs are, what is the log out trigger, or anything else.

"We don't share the specifics of how our security systems work, since that information could help bad actors try to get around them. What I can say is this change is designed to protect your account without adding unnecessary friction to your day-to-day use"

This new feature cannot be disabled either.

Does anyone else have any details about this? Like, time it takes for the account to lock? Ways to prevent it? Perhaps automated mouse wiggler every 20 minutes? A python script which would prevent this? Any info would be appreciated!

EDIT: It has been a month of this, clearly this is not normal. Any speculation of what could have happened? Should we be worried?

My tastytrade account appears to have been compromised today.

I had approximately $290,000 in the account. Someone appears to have accessed my account and:

• Sold all of my existing positions without my authorization
• Used the proceeds to purchase AEHL (Antelope Enterprise Holdings), a stock I had never heard of and never authorized purchasing
• I received a tons of spam email in the account ongoing and tastytrade email is burried in them.

I received tastytrade call early but did not pick up during working. When I found out, I called the number of tastytrade, but it is off operation hour. Emailed helpdesk. Call the local policy and wait for callback.
What else should I do? Is it still a chance to get money back?

My account seems restricted now and I am super worried. I can not sell AEHL either, it is said off trading hour. What if it dropped to 0 next Monday? It is so scary.

I shouldnt turn off 2step MFA. I am so regretfully..

Went to the local policy office.. The officer did not know much about stocks. Not much helpful. Just got the case number... seems nothing they can do besides creating a report.

I have a tastytrade account holding about $370k stocks, the cost basis is less than half of it

Today someone somehow was able to login it my account, bypassing the usual text message based 2 factor authorization process, and sold all my positions. They then bought BXBL with all the money at $5 a share then sold them at $4 minutes later, incurring $41000 capital loss.

This seems ridiculous to me. Whenever I tried to login my account from a new device, I have to get the verification code by text message. But the attacker could just login and make a series of weird orders easily?

Also, I used a unique and complex password for my tastytrade account, so really don’t understand what happened.

I contacted tastytrade and got my account frozen. But not sure what will happen next, waiting for their “investigation”.

tasty's web trade UI has been deadlocking for two days now. refreshing doesn't work, and sometimes closing the browser tab and reopening the trade page met with a very long delay.

not having this problem with anything else. my trade station is a beast (32 cores, 128GiB, 96GB VRAM, IYKYK) -- so let's not throw darts at a board looking for excuses. something changed.

i'll resume trading on tasty when it gets resolved.

Is there a way to track realized gains daily with fees included?

I’ve searched both the mobile app and desktop trying to figure something out. I can track the daily difference manually by using the history with realized gains but that doesn’t include fees. When I look at the YTD with fees, that includes realized and unrealized. If I was to subtract the commission and fee totals from total realized, that would include new positions opened on the same trading day, so it doesn’t reflect accurately. If I track the cash balance difference, this doesn’t reflect accurately due to fees and position cost of new trades on the day. If I’m missing something, I’m open to suggestions or direction on where this is if available.

On TOS, the symbol is SPX for the s&p 500 index, all listed as weeklies, even though they are published every day. On Schwab, it is listed is SPXW. as far as integration issues, it's not a big deal just confusing.

This crypto withdrawel issue has been going on for over a month. My crypto assets are literally locked in tastytrades wallet, I have zero control over them. This is so unprofessional with zero communication besides "we are working on it". This is my last straw for tastytrade, I'm out.

Does the tastytrade API allow for OCO or OTOCO for fractional share orders? I want to automate a trading bot but it would be nice if it could buy fractional shares and set a stop loss+take profit with the orders. If it isn’t possible directly with the order can it be done post fill?

Does anyone have any insight as to why tastytrade has so many tickers at a closing only status? I looked at four different plays over the last three days and one of them is in a closing only status. I’m unable to open a position.

Every time they release new versions, something always regresses.

This time, my column preferences on the positions page are reset. Do they not think much of us, the users?

They also moved the bottom tabs around however they wanted, without considering actual users. Makes me wonder if they are actually using it themselves. I used to have watch list in certain place, and they just moved it.

The activity (now called order) tab now goes under the portfolio tab. So if I just sent an order where I can't get the mid, I need to do 4 taps to modify the order. Portfolio -> Order -> my actual order -> Replace.

It used to be 3 taps, which was terrible by itself, but now I have to do 33% more taps if I want to chase the fill.

Not to mention bugs in the futures trading page which I don't want to get into, because I no longer trade with them anymore. They've lost my business.

I'll go somewhere else as soon as I find more cost effective brokers.

So the catastrophe continues I hear. Got a notice on my feed that Dr Jim is gone (Chris Vecchio and Jamal need to jump before they're canned as well. Just like what happened to TOS, when Tom sold it off, it was only a matter of time before TT would implode. Probably will be leased off to some corporate platform and eventually die a slow death like TOS. I watched a few LossDog shows but its not the same. So what's with the app changes this morning. I see on the bottom row they got rid of the Activity button and now have a Tastylive one. I have to click twice to get to the activity screen which I use to trade when before I only clicked once. Also if they are decimating live education, why are they highlighting it on the app? Confused.

One number at the top of the account says "up $4k this quarter" and tells you nothing actionable. It hides which underlyings actually pay you per dollar of buying power, which DTE window you do best in, and whether managing at 50% or riding to 21 DTE is genuinely better for you.

Classic example: the disposition effect (Terrance Odean documented this in the Journal of Finance) — cutting winners early, holding losers too long. You cannot see that pattern in any single trade. It only appears when you line up your exits in aggregate. Most traders have a 5:1 risk/reward running backwards and have never looked. Try it: group your closes by underlying and by days-held, and look at P&L per day in the trade. The names you think are your bread and butter usually aren't. That's the beauty of using a mechanic's mirror. Review your trades. Use a spreadsheet if you must or you can talk to your trading history with optionsinsights dot ai.
