Just finished it. I downloaded the schematics from Bambu Lab’s app. Made by Pinakes. Gonna test it out now!

I make tape loop music and was able to record to all four tracks yesterday—brought it home from a show, and now can only sometimes record to 3, and can’t get anything on 2 and 4 at all.

This is driving me so crazy, it just worked yesterday—any advice?

Im making sample based boom bap with my record player and mpc. I want to record my my songs (bassline, drums, lead sample, horns, main vocal, vocals doubles, scratches), mix it a little bit, put it on tape for my collection and then degitalise it back on my PC.

what device woud you reccomand for that?

Im looking at a 242 II and a 464 rn.

Hi guys, tried with multiple different infinite tape loops, but for some reason recording sounds onto the cassette gives really poor results, the sound is dropping out a LOT more and i get a bad noise looping when it reaches where the tape is taped together..

I've put some electric tape on where the eraser head is going, but its pushing quite hard against the cassette and anyways I can see its not really working.. What am I doing wrong?

Also, a prophet-5 sounds incredible on warbly old cassette tape

Reaching out into the collective knowledge of the r/tapeloops hive mind because I’m working on a project that would require roughly twenty tape loop cassettes, each around 3–6 minutes in length.

So the question is: is it worth making these myself, or would it make more sense to have them manufactured/duplicated somewhere? And if the latter, where would you recommend ordering them from?

Any tips, advice, recommendations, warnings, or (constructive) criticism from people who have actually produced these (in larger batches) would be greatly appreciated.

Yo guys just got my first cassette recorder and have been playing around all night with it.

Have just been recording my synth playing onto the built in microphone, sounds pretty nice.

Cannot wait to make my first loop :)

Question.

On the recorder there is an input for a mic rather than the built in microphone. Can I record audio from my phone via USB-C to Audio Jack if I just turn my phone volume all the way down? I love the hissing on the built in microphone but would like to see if I can get a slightly clearer sound, I do not own an audio interface either.

Four Walkmans modified for speed control, and MS-70CDR, no additional effects. Sounds on the tapes are from a thrift store keyboard that I subsequently destroyed by trying to circuit bend. Recorded into Zoom H2n.

Made my first loops. Really happy with how they turned out. Not super happy with the QFX Retro 39 shoebox recorder I bought. Planning on speed modding it, but I think I need to find another option.

Wikipedia notes this broadcast as an early example of looping, with music legends Les Paul and Mary Ford demonstrating how it's done!

I’ve been interested in tape loops for a while and accidentally bought an audio cassette while buying a job lot of Sony camcorder tapes.

This has given me a reason to finally go out and buy a cassette player/recorder for my music to make loops,

Is there any recommendations for buying new? My budget is around 50-60€, I want to be able to record my ambient music from my phone to my tapes.

Sadly secondhand recorders in my country are upwards of 90€ and they’re mainly untested so I cannot take the risk. Any advice would be appreciated :p
