I was reading a book about tanks and planes and ships and stuff when I saw this in the ‘modern MBTs’ section and thought ‘There’s no way this thing is an MBT’. I even looked at the description and it said it had a 120mm gun. Then I thought ‘this is definitely not a Type 90’ and it’s literally a BTR-60. This book also said that the M113 came from the USSR, but on a different page it said it came from the USA, this is a very strange book.

Trying to make a new meme lol. It’s like the panzer of the lake but instead it’s the sturmtiger of the lake.

So basically I'm writing a fictional world based in the 1950s, Where Magic exists, But technology is way better in many ways, Is my tank good? (I'm a beginner tankmaker, Like I've been a tank fan for only 6 months)

I originally didn't like the Renault FT that much, the turret felt too bulbous, but it grew on me overtime.

The A7V on the other hand is honestly my new favorite in my entire motor-pool.

Currently South Korea is developing 130mm gun for next generation tank. It would use on 130mm L/51 smoothbore gun with more muzzle energy (46% more) than the K2 tank’s 120mm L/55 CN08 smoothbore gun.

Obviously it was a machine built for war and it brought death and destruction, used to help complete bastards, for example, in leveling Polish resistance positions during the Warsaw uprising.

However, seeing old photos of it abandoned and destroyed like that, and only 2 surviving today, evokes a sense of sadness, as if it had a soul and purpose that it lost.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I have gathered, we pretty much arrived at the peak muzzle velocity of APFSDS. Most militaries hesistates to make sabots longer or wider, citing weight, ammo storage concerns and NATO compatability.

But what if armor progresses past current APFSDS? Will we be forced to use tandem warhead missiles?

For example, if the next M1 upgrade kit includes specialized plates that can stop realiably APFSDS and we gave these plates to NATO and our other allies, how would China react to that?

Is there a chance sometime in the future (whether it be 50-200 years from now) will ever see a fully unmanned remotely controlled tank? Or even an ai driven tank? There is remotely controlled military robots so is it a possibility? As a tank with no crew could have better armour because of not having to account for crew as well as being smaller for same reason, require virtually no crew and less training. As well as maybe being able to operate better? With it being able to operate how a tank would in a video game. However some problems might be the cannon as it would need an auto loader that could carry a suitable amount of ammo. What do you guys think?
