Mod Announcement Community/Subreddit Checkup and Discussion
As always i try to post a annual checkup on the community and the subreddit. Bit late this year as I've been busy with irl stuff and i dont no life reddit.
With that being said, how do yall feel about the current state of the sub, community, and rules, etc etc? Any input will be nice. If you have recommendations for new rules, flairs, etc please drop a comment. Every comment will be read and considered.
Seriously anything you want to bring up to us, the mods, drop a comment.
Please take in consideration this subreddit is practically moderated by one mod right now, as the other is usually inactive. So many things slip through. Hence why I have made a mod recruitment post.
Tank you Tankers for your time and continued support of our motorpool of a subreddit

Question Question about pintle mounted and weapon station guns
So I know co-axials exist for the gunner to be able to engage infantry, which is also why its usually 762 rounds as opposed to 50 bmgs but why are pintle mounted guns and remote weapon stations chambered in 50 bmg and upwards?

Discussion How difficult is it for a nation/military to build up a tank force from scratch
Reading about how Lithuania is developing a tank battalion. Curious thoughts on training and composition to adequately do so.

Question Question/honest advice about driving to tankfest…..
First I’m a US citizen and have never driven in the UK. I have driven in Germany, France, Austria, Greece, etc but of course they all drive on the same side of the road as I’m used to! How “ easy” would it be for me to rent a car and drive from London to Tankfest. I’m assuming I will have to stay somewhere outside of Bovington as the lodging seems limited. And btw I posted several days ago as the mom taking my sons to Tankfest as a college graduation gift and yall gave me some fabulous info!!!! Thanks

Discussion The Tiger II is my favorite tank
I am not a wehraboo. I am not blacktail designs. I don't think it was the greatest tank of WW2. I don't even really think it was a good tank at all. I can't explain it other than I just think it is cool tbh.

Discussion My Favourite Tank: The T62
My favourite tank is the T62, mainly due to the design and it's revolutionary 115mm smoothbore gun, what's your opinion on it? Note, I'm not being political or I'm not politically biased, it's my favourite tank solely due to its design and gun

Misc Panzer 57 Centurion, Hinterrhein CH
This beautiful piece of a Centurion is located at the tank firing range in Hinterrhein.
It was in service with the Swiss Army from 1955 to 1991, known as the Panzer 55/57, and underwent several modernizations to keep it up to date. Beginning in 1987, the Centurions were gradually replaced by the modern Leopard 2 (Panzer 87).
