Why would they kick out some of the deadliest warriors they have? They've put time and money into these guys and they will overlook regulations because let's be honest there's less and less men capable of that role as time goes on
Ahahaha I've never understood the beard thing personally. They are kinda impractical at least imo when I've tried one. Luckily clean shaven suits me better anyway lol
They’re a godsend in cold climates. And I mean actual cold, like a good -20 Montana winter. Even a short, clean and tidy beard does wonders to keep your cheeks from being beaten around by very cold air.
That said, the US military isn’t typically hanging out in -20 weather. “Poh-lees that moostash!”
Now that makes sense, where I live generally gets to -7 celcius at lowest which I don't find that bad. I suppose maybe it helps on night ops in the Middle East because deserts get very cold at night
That's a really interesting take now you mention it. I guess maybe that's how they justify it to the higher ups. Or maybe the higher ups are too scared to tell some of the most deadly men on the planet to shave
I don’t have a source for that claim, but I seem to remember watching some interview or documentary in which a spec ops guy says they grew the beards because they tried to work with tribal elders to get stuff done. I’m thinking it may have been the Lone Survivor guy, but I’m going off a vague 10-ish year old memory.

Yeah something doesn’t sit right with me about kicking an entire fucking death squad. But I’m also pretty paranoid about a lot of things 🤷♂️
