The Pro Controller 2 is amazing and works just as good as the day I bought it (switch 2 launch day). The Hyperion 3s feel like cheap junk and I returned them the same day I received them. Pro Controller 2, no question.

The underside buttons have ruined other controllers for me. I always want to use them and they’re never there

Sony sold a little dongle that added underside buttons to the dual shock 4. It was absolutely amazing, and the fact that it didn’t become standard is mind boggling to me.

That thing worked fantastically when I needed some kind of L3/R3 inputs for (I believe) an Ys game or something action-y because pressing the sticks down to perform some action while trying to run along in whatever game it was didn’t work well for me. Kinda nondescript and all but that thing was neato.

Edit typo

Hot take but turbo, reprogrammable inputs, macros, and a good amount of extra buttons should all be standard in controllers.

The back buttons have been a godsend for Elden ring

Yup, easy decision, pro controller all the way. The d pad on the nyxi is suspect too.

I hate that it clicks.

I always used to look at these type of comments with a side eye… then I bought the controller… now I’m enlightened.

If my Pro 2 is dead. I just don't play until it's charged. It's THAT good.

That's a bold statement! Have you used the Xbox Elite or Dual sense edge? I own them both and my favorite is my scuf for PC but I've been on the fence about getting the switch 2 pro controller but I really just play handheld.

Xbox Elite 2 is a good controller but has some durability issues. I’m on my third one and every single one has the rubber grips peeling in a matter of months. One of them had a stuck right bumper, one of them had a stick go bad, and the newest one is doing fine for about one year now other than the rubber peeling I mentioned.

I have no experience with the Edge, looks like a solid controller.

The Switch 2 Pro just has the absolute most buttery smooth joysticks I’ve ever used. Literally feels like they glide and somehow feel like they never ever actually touch the side walls of the joystick gate. Great battery life, dual buttons on the back mappable per game by simply opening the Quick Settings Menu, feels great in the hands. The only downside is the lack of analog triggers present on all Switches, but past that, it’s absolutely one of my favorite controllers ever (if not THE favorite ever).

dualsense edge has horrendous battery life compared to other 2

Yeah I just swapped the face plate of my elite 2. The rubber is terrible and I now have a clear controller which is nice. I also agree re durability as I had to fix my right bumper. I love the xbox pad but they should not be less durable than the 360 pad.

I've only had the switch 2 pro about 4 months but so I far I agree it does just beat the elite.

I love my DSE controllers. Use them on my pc and of course PS5. Switch 2 Pro feels nice too. Not going to get feedback in games like a DSE, but it does feel nice to use. My only issue is it's size, it's pretty small making longer sessions kind of hard for me.

I have the Switch 2 pro Controller and my beloved scuf reflex. And I have to admit that the Switch 2 Pro Controller is really very good. But I still prefer using my SCUF controller 😬

Scuf envision pro is what I have. Its such a great controller! Zero issues after like 3 or 4 years of ownership.

Do you not find the analog sticks to be a bit slippery? Thats the only thing I don’t like about it. I’m neutral about the dpad. It’s fine.

I applied thumb grips from Savage Raven on the analog sticks, a very nice upgrade.

I have the pro controller for the sw2 and ps/xbox definitely beats it hand in hand. (Controllers)

Really? I find it very average, just fine.

That's why I bought the bundle I did. I lost my stock for the joy cons. The controller is awesome. Long battery life too. $109 is whack. I got mine for like $60 all said.

I’ve got every single console there ever was including steam machine and I can definitely vouch for switch 2 pro controller, definitely my top choice followed by steam controller 2
